Pre-Season Game 6: AC Milan

Lulz at Henderson passing the arm band to Lovren before realising he was being subbed too.

Wisdom, Brannagan and Randall for Lovren, Ragnar and Hendo. Randall at DM, Stewart at CB.

All the reports I'm reading are talking about Ojo's pace causing all sorts of problems for Milan. And he can cross too.

2:0 FT. An fairly easy win – Milan set back for most of the game and didn't cause us many problems.

Origi MOM. Looked inspired and physically dominant.
Firmino with another poacher's goal (kind of becoming his trademark now), but overall looking, like he did throughout the pre-season, a bit too relaxed and possibly overweight. Probably a Brazilian thing – not too many of his countrymen take pre-season all that seriously, I would imagine. Tried a rabona for no reason, which will probably earn him an earful from Klopp.
Ojo looked raw at times, losing the ball for no reason other than lack of concentration. But his pace is frightening and, unlike Markovic, he can put a cross on a plate after accelerating. Makes the game look easy, when he is on it.
Stewart – solid and selfless defensive display once again. I can see why Klopp likes him.
Randall – decent effort in midfield, even had a dangerous shot on goal. Once again shows that for Klopp CM/DM and FB positions are often interchangeable.
Moreno – the best game of his pre-season so far. A really nice long ball for Origi's goal and even some decent defending. No complaints about this performance.

Origi makes a strong case for the being the first choice striker with that performance. Of course expect Sturridge to remind us of his quality with an out of the world finish in the next two games.

Ojo has a lot of potential. I can see him being eased into the first team this season. Markovic aint gonna make it here.

In celebration is Firmino giving us a clue as to the future of his top-knot ?

Too bad this loop doesn't show the run preceding the cross from Ojo. The Milan full-back (our own former player Gabriel Paletta) had at least 2-3 meters on him when the ball was played, but Ojo outran him like he wasn't there. That's why pace can be such a great weapon.

I was a bit disappointed with Sadio today. His strength and pace are very valuable. But he often seems clumsy on the ball and that missed chance was quite awful. Hope my initial worries prove unnecessary.

When Origi is on it he can be unplayable. Saw a bit of that last season.

If I was Sturridge, I'd be worried.

Yep. I saw that on another clip but I couldn't copy it .. it wasn't 2m it was more like 5m and I thought Ojo had no chance of getting there ahead of the defender .. without that pace there would have been no goal and the ball easily recycled by Milan.

As in previous years, the first thing I want to know after a pre season game is: "How did Suso do???"😛
