I'm back baby - for the good of the quad. Sorry Modo.

Brighton in patchy form, we need to keep on winning. Nice to be playing before City again to just focus on ourselves and keep the pressure on. I partly expect to see Elliot or someone creative start ahead of Fabs + Thiago.

-------------Alisson-------------
Trent--Matip--Virgil--Robbo
--------------Fabs---------------
-------Elliot------Thiago--------
--Salah----Mane-----Diaz--

Yaaaaaaasssss!!!!!

However… the spell may be broken and you may have to pay the ferryman Dantes for that!!!

Patchy form is pretty kind to Brighton. They've lost their last 4 against Burnley, United, Villa and Newcastle, so there's no better time to play them. They played well at Anfield, but it's hard to see them replicating that form at the weekend.

Speaking of form, our lot need to put in a strong performance that reminds everyone how good we can be. The scrappy wins are fine, but there's only so long you can sustain doing that. We essentially need to win every game to be in with a shot of the title, so some big, comfortable morale boosting wins will be nice to see. Early lkick offs are a bit more nerve-wracking. Glad it's away because Anfield is dead and gets nervous.

I'm thinking of splurging £300-odd quid for a tout-website ticket. (Now the kids have left home, the mortgages are paid off, and I'm still working, I can do this ! First time I've ever had any spare cash.).

The tout-website assures me there are no longer any covid status checks - but the Amex stadium website suggests there still might be.

Anyone know for sure ?

I don't think it is legal anymore?

Here you go @Ukrainian by marriage - No covid checks

I wonder if this is where we give Fabinho a rest, concerned Arsenal will be a tough game and he’s seeing a lot of minutes

Considering that Hendo was on the bench. I would imagine a midfield with Hendo, Thiago and possibly Keita against Brighton.

Whatever you do - if anyone asks you to send money on paypal via "friends & family" - don't, as you aren't covered for scams.

I was going to suggest Konate come in for this one but unless he makes a quick recovery that's not on. We need to rest players, we have 4 days to Brighton then 4 days away to an in-form Arsenal that looks a real banana at the moment. Not sure what the big gap after that is ... internationals?

I'd give those that were looking a bit dodgy a rest wherever possible and those just back from injury a reduced workload too.

So Tsimikas for Robbo who didn't look great whilst expending a lot of energy. Jota looked crap - bench for him but coming on for Mane after 60 mins. Matip looked crap so if Konate isn't fit to start then it's Gomez. Fabinho needs a rest and I expect us to dominate possession so Hendo in as DM as Fabs drops to the bench too. Thiago for 60 minutes to help Hendo, and make up for the missing Fabinho. Elliott is due a start but it could well be Milner with Elliott on after 65 mins.

I suggested Salah----Mane-----Diaz up front a few days ago so I'm happy staying with that.

Trent--Gomez--Virgil--Tsimikas
--------------Hendo
-------Elliot------Thiago
--Salah----Mane-----Diaz

And sacrifices ! Don't forget the most important ingredient. Now who's on the altar this weekend?

Can you not list forumites by number of ignores?

Just start at the top and work down, they’re the absolute definition of canon fodder

I’ll translate this in @momoWASboss :

“we’re going to fucking twat them”

I’ve been watching since the 1960’s and this Liverpool team is better than the Liverpool teams of the 1980s, in my opinion.
It is difficult to see a weak link in the starting XI and they are better than the Man United and Arsenal duopoly in the first decade of the Premier League, too.
The recruitment has been very impressive, spending £500vmillion (gross) less than the two Manchester clubs and Chelsea since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.
Liverpool have spent money well – some other clubs have simply spent it – and that quickly shows in results on the pitch as opposed to likes on Instagram.
The Reds are a little unfortunate that City are also a magnificent team, both individually and collectively, which may result in the trophy cabinet at Anfield in recent years not representing the progress the club has made.
