Sturridge is classy. Obviously the first goal was more impressive but i love how he just rolled the second in. It was like a delicate putt or something. Ings was very promising. His hard work in the first half was complemented by some nice touches in the second and good movement to open up space for Sturridge's goals. We can't defend against big men, we can't defend against pace and movement either though. A decent team could pick holes in that formation all day long you'd fear, but the attacking play was intelligent and encouraging.

Ings tire considerably towards the end. Not sure if he played in the league cup.
He provides alot of energy, heart and enthusiasm but he is just short of that little quality imo. If only he is a tad quicker, a tad stronger, technically a little better and he could be a very good player.

Is not so much the defeats, it is the manner of the defeats and the performances too that have carried over from last season

It's not the fact we've lost less, it's the fact we've looked hopeless Brendan. Even the wins have been touch and go.
