Maybe I watched the game but they 'dominated the game'? They did nothing really but hold the ball and their best chances - bar the wonder goal - came from mistakes (TAA pass). They didn't really threaten the team - and our defense, like every team that played this in the knockout stages bar PSG @ Madrid, looked comfortable. Ronaldo? Invisible. Benzema? Invisible. Isco? Bar the cross bar on TAA's mistake, invisible.

This is a tough loss because it feels like 2007 - we lost to a team we really should have beaten. This Madrid team, although identical to last year's team, is a few levels below them and needed a late penalty and plenty of goalkeeper errors to win. Stuff of proven winners I guess - and I'm sure some cunt will drive it home.

Other thoughts:

- Robbo - some fantastic stuff, some mistakes too. Really happy we have a LB for another 6-7 years.
- Lovren - some great stuff too. Are people happy with him as VvD's partner next year? Or do we need better?
- VvD - class. Wish he would have scored on that corner.
- TAA - Felt he wasn't at his best today in any category.
- Hendo - he wasn't bad, but we needed more from him today and he couldn't provide it.
- Milner - see above.
- Gini - see above.
- Salah - that was cruel, fucking cruel.
- bobby - really struggled once salah went off because we couldn't really press effectively.
- Mane - stud.
- Karius - wow. As a human being, I'm gutted for him as he just threw away his career here (how can the defense ever trust him?), if not his career at a top side for the next few years until he regains his confidence. As a Liverpool fan, I hope he is fucked off. I thought he was a capable #1 but if your #1 fucks up twice in our biggest game, he's finished. Fuck him off.
- Lallana - just wasn't ready for this game. He couldn't press well, he barely touched the ball.
- Klopp - I hope Dmish isn't right about him.
- Madrid are the biggest fucking cheating cunts. They went down non-stop - and that Ramos is a whooping thundercunt. He's got the last laugh again but he's a fucking cunt.
- It sucks to think Bob's record is now shared.
- Thought ref was a cunt. A yellow for Mane and nothing for Madrid despite similar fouls. Don't think he got any of the major calls wrong - but Madrid got a way with a lot of cheap fouls.
- Putting aside the result, I'm really proud of this team. We played with the 'best team in Europe' and mistakes gave it to them, not the supposed gulf in superiority or class. We are not that far off. We couldn't make up for losing Salah when we didn't have an Ox-like player in the middle. We need to buy well again - and we can do something.
- Lastly, this is the first final I watched with my boy, who's now 9.5. It was such an experience, bar the result. He's gutted, and being the only Liverpool fan in his school won't be easy tomorrow as most kids love Madrid or Barcelona, but take one on the chin son and we'll be back again ... We'll come out of this storm.

The 90+% passing success rate was incredible. They controlled the game and made it look effortless.
How much effort do you need to put in when the keeper gives you two goals? Had that not happened and we’d won they’d have been criticized for looking abject.

Ramos might be a dirty fucker but in a weird way I admire someone who will do anything to win and that's what he done. He didn't know for certain that Salah would be injured when he grabbed him but he definitely tried to do him and we were unlucky that it happened to our best and most influential player. Most winning teams have at least a few dodgy cunts playing for them and it can make a big difference in big games. No one complained when we had Tommy Smith, Jimmy Case , Graeme Souness or Steve Mcmahon.

I thought it looked rather dirty too.

They really carved us open didn’t they with those two goals and a spectacular overhead goal.

Be one eyed all you like. They hit the woodwork, Karius made saves and defenders made great last ditch tackles.

They were superb, 90% pass completion against our press

Tell him not to worry he'll see many more finals yet.

So your dismissal of us hitting the woodwork and counting theirs is not ‘one eyed’?
But do keep your balanced view bollocks persona going.

I am not disputing we gave them the win with Karius. But they were the better side as well.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I haven't a clue why you'd post this after Ramos has just taken out someone ten times the man he is in a champions league final.

And I’m off to Corfu on Monday morning. Unless some fucker cancels my flight.
Corfu is lovely. Full of mossies though, so get yourself some repellant. Grab a plug-in jobby while you're there for your bedroom. The old town is very nice.

Only after Mo went off, due to Ramos being one dirty fucking twat .. before that we were clearly the better team.

We were the better side in the first 20 and we should have scored. We didn't and that's that. We can go on and on about what if's or discuss what actually happened.

They really weren’t. Ronaldo didn’t have a sniff all night. There was nothing in that game other than a handful of big moments, all bar one of which went their way.

He was poor although it still took an unreal last ditch tackle and a streaker to stop him.

It's all opinions. I thought they were a different class from the moment Salah went off.

Only genuine criticism I have of Klopp is that he gave Marcelo free reign down our right hand side when he reshuffled after Salahs substitution. Thats where Bales first goal came from. Pinning Marcelo back is key to disrupting their rhythm, that and hustling Modric off the ball, we didnt do either.

I can't disagree with him :

Ex Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard speaking on BT Sport: "On a human level you can feel sadness for Loris Karius.
"That's with him for life now. Mistakes like this are not for this level, the Champions League final. The first one, which kind of changed the momentum of the game, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. "It's a horrible moment for him. he needs some big support from his team-mates now. He didn’t mean that but it’s cost them the game."

In hindsight - he made the wrong sub with Lallana.
I actually think Solanke (don't know who the subs were!) would have been better here - put him in the middle, let Bobby neutralize the left/right flank and Mane do his thing.
Oh well, 20/20
