Cheers
Defensive issues obvious now our midfield situation has improved. Johnson and Skrtel to blame for second. Skrtel for penalty. Mignolet very tentative. Definite problems in internal confidence and communication. Something is wrong internally. Confidence in the keeper among the players is clearly low..
Does midfield have any blame for the defensive weakness? Are we letting teams cruise through?
I said it in the match thread and I will say it again we will not finish 4th if we defend like this. we got out of jail twice in the last 2 matches. the defence inc the keeper were a disgrace. sg is not a dm. coutinho was off his game today and suarez looked today like he looked just before arse made a bid for him i.e. he looked like he was sulking. I re-iterate: it LOOKED LIKE. I am not saying he was. we need to sort this out sharpish or 4th will be an if only after the last match of this season.
haha. I stopped watching the match at 3-3. and that's what I based what I wrote above. I am sure the rest of the match was exactly the sameI thought you were watching the Winter Olympics for most of the game?
Er, we got 3 points today.I said it in the match thread and I will say it again we will not finish 4th if we defend like this. we got out of jail twice in the last 2 matches. the defence inc the keeper were a disgrace. sg is not a dm. coutinho was off his game today and suarez looked today like he looked just before arse made a bid for him i.e. he looked like he was sulking. yes we did. granted but r u seriously saying you were happy with our defence and all of our players perfs?Er, we got 3 points today.
So you based it on only a few of the facts?haha. I stopped watching the match at 3-3. and that's what I based what I wrote above. I am sure the rest of the match was exactly the same
Been ravaged by injury though. Don't think we've played our first choice back four of Johnson, Skrtel, Sakho, Enrique once this season, have we?
Anyway, a true positive from that match, I've said it once and I'll say it again, sure, of course I love Suarez, Sturridge, Gerrard, etc. but I think my favourite player is Henderson.
Fucking love his passion, the fact he yells at other players, you can tell it means so much to him.
Runs for days and leaves it all on the pitch. Great player and improving game by game especially as a leader.
Future captain for me.
maybe you can add the missing facts. I am not sure there will be much to add since reading the match thread for the last 4 pages showed that the rest of the match followed the same pattern. So you based it on only a few of the facts?
No, I'm not happy with our defence nor the bi-polar midfield but the team as a whole is winning, grinding out wins when we don't deserve it. When we do play well, it's awesome but we can't realistically play like that in every game. So when we get 3 points and played poorly, it means the team fights for everything and that's a positive.yes we did. granted but r u seriously saying you were happy with our defence and all of our players perfs?
With Allen we had a better presser. Toure coming on stopped the calamity of Agger. Reading the match thread where posters post what they want doesn't really give you the information on the game.maybe you can add the missing facts. yes some sort of positive yes. but if we aspire to a top 4 finish, we should be beating the likes of Fulham and Swansea more comfortably than we have done in the last 2 matches. if we can play like this against city or Chelsea and still get 3 points then I will say yes a lot of positives here but not when we beat Swansea after conceding 3 goals (no disrespect to Swansea or Fulham)No, I'm not happy with our defence nor the bi-polar midfield but the team as a whole is winning, grinding out wins when we don't deserve it. I agree with that too. that's y I said maybe u can add the missing bits and make me change my mind and forget the calamitous back 5 and non existent midfield at anfield against the mighty swanseaWith Allen we had a better presser. Edit: how great is it that we have to confidence and the ability to come back and win these games. Wasn't always the case, easy to take for granted.
This is the exact problem the players had when the game started. A good first goal and we didn't press nor play to our game plan. Assuming it's an easy win, giving them little respect causes us problems. It's the altitude that we're the mighty Liverpool, roll over for us is the reason why we haven't won the league for so long.yes some sort of positive yes. but if we aspire to a top 4 finish, we should be beating the likes of Fulham and Swansea more comfortably than we have done in the last 2 matches. if we can play like this against city or Chelsea and still get 3 points then I will say yes a lot of positives here but not when we beat Swansea after conceding 3 goals (no disrespect to Swansea or Fulham)
Our biggest problem at the back is communication. The one player who sorted that out retired last summer.
Or you can watch the game rather than the Olympics.I agree with that too. that's y I said maybe u can add the missing bits and make me change my mind and forget the calamitous back 5 and non existent midfield at anfield against the mighty swansea

This is the first year I've seen where we haven't been doing that, and when it does it gets understood during a game and we grind out a win.
yes localny it happens. but city is a near certainty to finish in the top 4 if not win the pl. they are not looking over their shoulders for 4th place. they have enough of a buffer and the best squad. lfc, on the other hand, is having to continuously look over their shoulders because either spurs or neverton just wont go away (looks like neverton have atm). We've beat a lot of teams easily. Some you wont in this league. Even Chelsea struggled from time to time and performed badly. We expect robotic continuity sometimes and perfection, when sometimes all you need from a bad patch is willingness to learn/improve and also get 3 points. We are doing both.
No pl winning team wins week in week out. Didn't city draw to Norwich just last week. Bad performances happen. But we are getting the results, and the manager knows there's defensive problems. I trust he will improve it..
