Maybe he's some sort of amazing wind up merchant on the pitch and this is why he keeps getting a game. He's been taunting our opponents relentlessly for years, chipping away at their confidence and composure.

Good player all right but was unlucky enough to be here at around the same time as the greatest CB pairing in our history (perhaps as a result of that he took a while to settle in). Wouldn't be in my squad for the All-Time XI but we've defo had a great deal worse playing for us.
The fa, fifa & uefa can moan all they fucking want about flares, but they're fucking boss for the atmosphere & make clips & photos like that look well better.
Imagine any mental European away & you always picture smoke & flares.

What I would say though is that it's a bit worrying that clubs can't stop people taking in large flares like that though, if they are actually making an effort to, simply because you can make pipebombs etc of very similar size so makes it apparent that stadiums are still an easy & valid terrorist target.

Well, yes & no. I like that there's been no need for it, but I can't see it lasting, as sooner or later some lunatic will take advantage of that & walk into a stadium & blow themselves up.
It's a worldwide stage, with hundreds of people packed in close proximity to each other, & has pretty lax security. It's gotta be a target.
