Check out Angel Rangel, their no 22 on the left after Milner scores.

That's a weird way to show your frustration.

Clyne out of the international games aswell. Long standing knee problem according to the Express.
Has been playing through the pain barrier and needs rest and treatment.

Glen Johnson back into the England squad. I suppose he deserves it, he's been playing well by all accounts.

He's a good player but there's no longevity there considering that Walker and Clyne are ahead of him.

When you're only in temporary charge if any side you're going to play the best in that position though, you want results & don't give a fuck about longevity.

Were it a long term manager I'd be thinking it was a stupid decision for that every reason though.

Guess that makes sense, still Johnson shouldn't really bother when he knows that he probably won't start.

Is Walker injured too? I quite like Johnson and he has been apparently good for Stoke, but there must be more right-backs around?

Man that's harsh considering that these were their last six games:

Yep, this is definitely a case of the owners not getting footy. No one could look at those fixtures, & watch how they played at the weekend & sack the manager otherwise. It's fucking ludicrous.

There's been a load of stories about his communication issues, but also his actual health. In that he's apparently missed entire training sessions, been in and out of hospital, and also retired once already due to stress and health problems.

That kind of weakness - true or otherwise - isn't helpful for any manager.

Definitely, entirely, absolutely nothing to do with his nationality.
I see were you are coming from, but Bradley is a good choice. He has a very strong character, is a likable and sensible guy and I think he can get much more out of that squad than Ryan Giggs could have done.

Yeah, it's a bit Hobson's Choice that one. Giggs or Bradley?

Still, maybe Bob can bring to bear his many learnings from the MLS, Egypt, Norway and the French second division.

I dont think it is about bringing his learnings from Norway or Egypt to PL. Rather he brought his personality to Norway and Egypt. He will find a tough life in PL but I believe he can cut it.

"What do you mean do my methods translate? They have translated from the MLS to Egypt, to Norway to the French second division, to the U.S. national team, so I find the question insulting. To suggest that because I have moved from one club to another, that the methods which have stood me in good stead for 35 years and made me one of the most respected coaches in North America don’t suddenly work is very hard to believe.”

Haha... I see where you come from and although there could seem to be similarities I dont think there will be. Dont get me wrong.... I dont know his work too well, but he strike me as an intelligent coach that is able to utilize and improve what he has got on his hands, and not stamping around trying to implement out-of-date methods. PL and England is difficult, no question about it, but if you compare him to other coachen that has gone from Norway to PL (Olsen, Solskjær, Solbakken and Hodgson) he is a different kind. We will see, but give him some time and I think they made a dement choice.

I have a feeling it's now going to be called "Hodgson's Choice" on 6cm.

I really enjoyed the victory over Swansea. I think it was our most impressive victory for a good while. In that second half there was just no way we weren't going to win. Many times in the past we've had teams with questionable fight & spirit who would never have won that game on Saturday. We've come on a lot in this regard under Klopp. He said early doors he needed to work on the mental strength of the team and I think that showed. Great to see. He's got the players flying.

Also, Karius is a £5mil signing from a mid table German club. What were people expecting? I mean, if he was truly top class he wouldn't have been bombed out at Man City.

Expecting? I don't think a very young player leaving Man City and returning to his own country is any true reflection of his quality.

I'm not even sure the fee is, either. It's the same amount Chelsea paid for Courtois.

Plus I'm sure you will be reminded that he was voted second best keeper in the Bundesliga or whatever. OK, maybe there was a *bit* of surprise about that fee, and/or how easily we secured him, but I don't know any of the details ( contract length, blah blah)

I'd never seen him play, so had no strong views, and I tried to ignore all the bollocks spouted ('the German league is very similar, lots of physicality and crosses, he's very capable and as good as Horn or Blah fucking blah') because I'm naturally disinclined to believe that sort of spurious fiction.

There was a lot of debate about when Mignolet would be dropped for Karius, and again I wasn't sure because while I have always thought Mignolet wasn't good enough, I had no idea if Karius was any better.

It's very early indeed, but there's no doubt that so far he's looked worryingly dreadful.
He should be given a few more games, but I had a feeling we would see a bit of chopping and changing between the two, because the chances of us getting a readymade Neuer seemed very low

He had a release clause. Judging players on the basis of the fee paid and which club they're coming from - yeah, okay.

Mahrez 250k from Le Havre. Worst signing ever.

I'm hopeful Karius will be turn out to be good or at least better than Mig (not hard). But all things considered I won't be expecting a top quality 'keeper like De Gea or Courtois.

He left City when he was 18. I hardly think that matters at all.
Seeing as he was voted the second best goalkeeper behind Neuer in the Bundesliga, I'm pretty excited.
The Bundesliga is full of boss goalkeepers. And Klopp, Buvac etc knows a player when they see one.
Klopps Mainz connection aswell will have given a lot of info.
If it wasnt for his release clause we would have paid a whole lot more for him...

Just give him time to develop. If it doesnt work out, fine. But he'll need some time to adapt.

He's playing within himself and he has to cut that out. He should be far more active with crosses but seems too nervous to take the risk.
His play has to start matching his ultra confident words. Hope it comes soon because right now Mignolet is looking far more comfortable with crosses, and this is coming from someone who can't wait to see the back of him.
