The win at Swansea has now means that Jurgen Klopp’s side had won matches from trailing positions five times during the German’s tenure.

During the same period, only Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham have won as many matches from a losing position.

Yes, he may not be the most eye-catching 'wow' player, but then I prefer my fullbacks to be able to defend first. He's brilliantly reliable, and has great pace, stamina and diligence

Superb fullback, and I too would struggle to name a rightback that I prefer in the league

A superb signing
I keep saying it, but this lad adds crossing or a reliable final ball of any kind & he's gonna be regarded as world class in no time.

We were bailed out really by a 'moment of madness' from their CB. It could have quite easily happened at our end and very nearly did. The result is harsh on their manager given their performance and I hope he keeps his job as Swansea have played well in their last two matches and are unfortunate to come away without a point. Not that I care massively. It was interesting to see how they managed to negate our press by moving the ball quickly, smartly and with one touch football. We were chasing shadows for a while and looked a bit bewildered at how our usually reliable method of containing the opposition wasn't working. Swansea reverted back to the Swansea of old and we weren't prepared for it. The players and Klopp deserve praise for turning that one around. We were much better with the ball in the second half and it was matched by our movement. For how poor we were in the first we were as good in the second. Gritty, determined, perhaps unjust 3 points. Brilliant.

I wasn't that down on the performance. I felt like we'd be a bit shit, we were, but we won. Perfect way to go into an international break, we've won every match since the last one, so everyone can just chill knowing they've got a couple of weeks til a massive Monday night game against Manure and a boss cup tie against Spurs to come.

We've played 7 league matches... but 5 away. More than a quarter of our away games done. Last season we won 8 out of 19 away games. This year we've got 3 out of 5 and we've been to Arse, Spurs and Chelsea. It all fucking rocks.

Like I said in the match thread Milner is the only player we have that reminds me of Stevie G.

Clyne's getting a bit too much of an easy ride. He's made a few mistakes this season that have led to goals. He was at fault for the goal and then played a brainless pass that set up a big chance for Swansea, far worse than any of the mistakes Matip and Lovren made. 7 my arse.

The fact that that feckin gargoyle Walker can get picked ahead of him for England tells you all you need to know about the mess the national team is in.

All true.

I actually found him pretty frustrating today , he doesn't seem to have enough belief in himself when going forwards, he was about 40 yards out from goal today and turned him marker expertly, all he had to do was run and he'd have been in a great position and instead he checked, turned and passed backwards .

He seems to stifle momentum like that a bit too frequently ,he's clearly got the talent , its annoying

Thought he was very good in the 2nd half. Like the rest of them he was poor in the first half.

  • I don't think Gini did much but his presence there gives Henderson more room to do his thing ... He's obviously not settled into this position yet, but if Klopps is playing him ahead of Can - a player we all though would anchor the 3 man midfield - it says a lot.
  • Firimino did really well again - he's always in dangerous places and creates or scores goals all the time. He still needs a bit more urgency to his game - it feels like he will sometimes dilly on the ball which slows us down when attacking, or creates havoc for our defense. He's key to our team.
  • Defense was shaky ... Karius was poor ... 2 weeks to iron that out.

That was me. You wanna piece of this singred?

Yeah, I was wrong.

Me too doc - and I don't care that I said it because it is what I will say every week. We create loads of chances in each game to give us that hope of winning by large margins and even today in the 2nd half we were pissing all over them - it needed a few cool heads in some situations and we seemed to rush it at times.

At this very moment in time it appears that we may actually challenge for the title. What worries me most is that it could be very close by the end of the season and goal difference will count for a lot. If that is the case then we really need to either put away those half chances that we seem to now create an abundance of in games or stop the stupid leaks !!!

Cannot believe we have to wait so long for our next game - it will be difficult that but I think our record for winning evening games at 8pm on a Monday is quite good, we should be able to put on a good performance against them.

You just made me realise he's picking Wijnaldum ahead of Can. Fuck me.

Gini is much cooler in tight situations - he was excellent in the second half. I think the frustrations are to do with the fact that he is not an explosive type midfielder; and does his job without having to impose himself in a dominant way - much of it is down to his game intelligence - seems to be in the right place and therefore you don't see him running around that much because he stays with the game. Problem is that we payed some big Wonga for him and people expect so much more - I am one of them but I realize as some have pointed out - that he actually is allowing Henderson to play really well.

I thought Wijnaldum looked tired in second half .... And only reason to not throw on Can was that Lallana was already out and Can has looked a bit rusty on latest appearances.

Karius 6 - Flapped at one cross. Communication with his CB:s almost non-existent it seemed. Can't give him any lower cause we didn't concede from a mistake.

Clyne 6 - Average start, better in the second half. Nice runs forward. Too bad almost nothing comes of it. Lost his man at the back post again.
Lovren 6 - OK game. Should have done better for the goal.
Matip 6 - Probably his worst performance in red. Just looked sloppy at times also had trouble communicating with the players around him.
Milner 6 - Started off porly, got better as the game progressed. Well taken pen, some good runs, but he wasn't as good as he was against Hull.

Henderson 6 - Poor start, better in the second half. Too many sideways passes for my liking. Decent assist though.
Lallana 5 - Too bad he got injured.
Wijnaldum 5 - Was he even on the pitch?

Coutinho 6 - Tried to create but misplaced a lot of passes.
Firmino 7 MOM - Scored a goal and got a pen. Slow start from him as well.
Mané 6 - Tried hard, but was getting some tough treatment from the opponents.

Sturridge 6 - Also worked hard to create something but just didn't get enough chances to shine. Mostly just saw him get frustrated for not getting the ball.

Klopp: Picked the right team, but they all just seemed to have a collective off day. We got away with it imo. Could have just as well ended in a draw.

Don't get me wrong doc,it was not a dig ,I just wanna know why u guys are so confident given
our unsolved defence problems & after only 6 league games.

What a joy if our beloved team keeps steamrolling those lesser teams, but I choose to be more
realistic, key players may get injured, form will be on and off, most important is the
3 points!
That was me. You wanna piece of this singred?

Yeah, I was wrong.

I just think we are playing really well. OK, first half they were ace and we were not, but we imposed our class on them in the second half and got the result. We're pretty good is all I think. Pretty damned good.

Good 3 points. Yay.

To be realistic on any challenge we need spurs arsenal and mainly city to drop points.

I dont think other teams can keep the pace up the way we can.
They did it for 45 minutes and then faded badly. We can keep that shit going for 90.
Our stamina levels are amazing.

Yes. I was wondering if I had been watching the wrong match when I saw oncy's ratings. Clyne was downright awful.

Still, I'll take the 3 points when it could quite conceivably been worse. And pretty much all did improve in the second half.
