Do we really need to replace Allen now he has the beard and everything?

Seriously, although he has had few starts, and relatively little game time under Klopp, he has always looked really good when he has got chance. Looking busy in defence and scampering into the box to make a difference when we're pushing for a late goal.

If he's better than Allen, I'd be interested. Allen's a mediocre footballer.

There's some similarity in his game with Allen's at Swansea.

Busy midfield player with good technique, smart passing and some ability to run with the ball as well.

Also the same age Allen was when he joined us from Swansea. Which is really my concern - he's still somewhat of a prospect.

Will he go on to be a Gundogan, or will he regress to an Allen? For what will be a relatively small fee, the risk might be worth taking. But what our midfield really needs is an immediate injection of quality - wish we could get in proven quality like Gundogan or Kroos. Would really take our midfield from decent to excellent.

Rest assured, Klopp knows a great Pole when he sees one...

(Kuba & Lewandowski sure worked a treat at Dortmund).

Yeah, in that compilation at least he looks like an attacker more than a central midfielder. Lots of dribbling going on.
He's a CM. Sapponara is the one who plays AM for Empoli.

With Buchel, Zielinski and Paredes behind. He's more of an advanced CM than a deep lying CM though, that's true enough.
