Match Thread Plymouth Argyle (A) FAC 3pm 9th Feb

What a fucking shit show.

We’ve now gone and added even more pressure to ourselves, because all we’ll be hearing about is how we’re wobbling and Everton becomes even more important - anything less than a win and we’ll be giving Arsenal the boost they need.

There'll be one Irish Aussie cunt happy
He'll no doubt tell us that we don't need to be clinical or worry about our attack, in spite of the fact 2 of the 3 who started are meant to be 1st team regulars

So, I wouldn't be starting Jota, Diaz, chiesa, tsimikas, Elliott any time soon

Fucking atrocious performances than deserve nothing but scorn
Diaz too. Dreadful

Edit: just saw you mentioned him. Apologies

Selection for me was fine. Strong rotation but the early injury forced a change so the balance was off a bit

No excuses though, we had more than enough talent on that pitch to win that game.

That fucking handball in a game he was already stinking out.

I’m done with his stupid hair, his fake street accent, his fucking brand, his misplaced swagger when he scores a deflected goal…and a series of performances over the last couple of seasons that haven’t progressed and consistently highlighted his lack of pace, physicality and ability to be a consistent reliable figure in midfield.

He’s nowhere near as good as Liverpool fans rate him or he thinks he is.

Do you remember how going out of the cup helped us focus on the League and EL last season?
The only benefit here as opposed to then is that it's not the first team being dragged by united.

Ideally we see this as what it was; a shit show.

This will show slot that, in spite of what I keep getting told, we need to rebuild the front line.

You can just imagine the build up already now. Currently more annoyed with Slot than anyone for the squad selection. Hopefully less annoyed next week. He got it wrong big time, kind of got PSV but we lost 3 games in a month by some really poor choices selection wise. This is LFC, we have a squad to cope. Hope he doesn’t bang on about 23 match day squads again post match, really getting boring already.

Desperately poor performance all round. However I'm not too sad as it will mean less strain on the squad and help the treble bid.

You can have Messi Suarez and Neymar as your forward line, if you’ve got Nyoni Mcconnell Harvey Mabaya Quansah etc behind them, they’re not seeing the ball unless they’re dropping deep and essentially putting more strain to beat 3-4 players AND score, it just doesn’t happen.

Plymouth knew from the moment our teamsheet was read out, there was something in this for them.

I get it, too many changes and you impact fluidity and we were up against a team hyped up that fought for everything, but… fuck me… absolutely sleep walking through a game is unforgivable.

We lost it in midfield - just couldn’t get control.

That and an absolute lack of leadership on the pitch - which is incredibly frustrating and worrying in equal measures.

I fucking hate losing…

That's a reaction 5 mins after the match. This game will have zero affect on the 1st team - absolutely zero. And when we beat Everton to go 9 points clear Arsenal will be the ones with massive pressure on them, one further slip from them and it's already done.

Only thing I might have changed was starting Nunez, solely for his strength and pace. Jota didn't get a fucking sniff. He's like a shitter, more injury prone Harland.

Would be funny if we won a treble but not "the" treble and we spend rest of our lives trying to compare it to Scum's and City's.

Fingers crossed. Everton are looking alright, and will be up for it, and this would add more fuel to the flames. We need an early goal to shut their fans up
