PL Opposition Tidbits

Haaland's stats there are shocking but they point to a likely regression to the mean, which will result in another hot streak.

If City had got out in front, it might have been a different game.

They dont look the same on the pitch, but City are still capable of ripping off a long winning run.
Last time we won the league we did it by getting an almost insurmountable lead by the end of Christmas. Basically we choke slammed them and kept them down for the rest of the season.
We need to do the same this season, however we've got Arsenal to contend with too this time around. So...

No team has ever had an 8 point lead at this stage of the season and NOT won the title (only happened 4 times previously in the PL).

A fun one from the Arse Mania :

If this shows anything it’s that Liverpool ain’t that good. No chance they’re walking away with the league.
They’re literally walking away with the league as we speak.

8 points up and it’s only November. Scoring for fun, even with injuries

Also Liverpool do deserve to win here they been all over these dudes. Next week we'll likely need man city get something to make this interesting

The in-fighting between different posters is a good read !

Watching them battle it out life or death with the worst team in the league is no reassurance of their quality. Things going their way, but won’t last.
Like we did with Leicester at home? We have won 2 of 6 away games so far and both of them were lucky wins
-------

The key is for them to actually play good sides when those teams are not in horrendous form.
This screams no matter how much they win. I will find excuses to discredit them. Who has been more convincing than them this season?

-------

Nah mate, this team is not convincing enough, even at full strength.

It looks like the same disorganised Klopp side we knew from last season.

It be mighty surprised if they can stay at the top of the table for the rest of the season.
They have the best offensive and best defensive record in the league this season. I’d say it is a mighty surprise if they suddenly drop off and City or Arsenal can take enough advantage.

9 points is a lot mate

I watched their game the other day and when TimoWerner ran at Kyle Walker you could see Walker go for the afterburners but there was nothing there, Werner had him well covered for pace. The high line Pep plays is absolutely dependent on him being able to cover, the combination of him dropping off and Rodris absence as the defensive screen protecting the centre backs is leaving their defence wide open. They are playing like us 3 years ago when Fabinho and Hendo couldnt move faster than jogging speed and anybody who ran through midfield had a clear shot on goal.

Has it been 3 years?!

'Abuse', my hole. Judas is just a loudmouth bully who can't take it when somebody isn't afraid of him and uses his own tactics on him... Repugant wanker.

I dunno, I kind of like the fact he didn't take the ridiculous abuse that gets hurled at players past and present. It's just ridiculous how much shit gets thrown at them.

And yeah, I have a soft spot for Keane, because he is one of the best players Ireland has produced in the last 40+ years.

Brentford have (quite rightly) successfully appealed Norgard's sending-off against Everton.
It was recommended by VAR, confirmed on review by the referee.
Should the people who sit on the review panel (or people like them) be the decision makers in the VAR system, as opposed to refs on a physical fitness recovery day? I think the panel has ex-players as well as refs.

Just noticed that Arsenal don’t leave London for a match until Jan. that he quite ideal for players resting etc.

I suspect you're right, but in fairness that was his stupid da who sounds like he'd be good mates with Diaz's da.

I prefer to take it as taking the piss out of Brentford for drawing against Everton.

Branthwaite is a bit overrated isn't he?
I wouldn't pay big money to sign him just because he's left footed. At the moment he looks more like a project than a solution.
Quansah is a lot better imo.

You have to consider the bunch of clowns he's surrounded by, similarly to how Stones looked like a bag of shite and everyone raised eyebrows when City signed him for 50m - likewise Ake at Bournemouth, but yes yesterday he was absolutely fucking shite. I actually think he's England's best prospect at this moment.
