PL Opposition Tidbits

I assume that's why on the Thumbs Up Thumbs Down system they have on the BBC page there is a resounding Thumbs Down.

Yep should be 21 and why was Elliott not included? Look at that shite.

The BBC Thumbs Up Thumbs Down System… eh?

Anyway, I thought they changed it to U2/ a few seasons back for this very reason - but if they haven’t, then there really isn’t that much to complain about other than Harvey for Udogie, but Harvey hadn’t quite nailed a regular starting slot.

Manoo feels a bit overhyped, but I can’t think of many others that have sparkled - maybe the young lad at Newcastle before his injury.

Maybe they’re not discounting penalties or something.

Well it would be a valid reason - that's why the Thumbs down is in the hundreds I assume.

Imagine going that far this season to watch united, that's a crime in itself.

I reckon they just swap around; Tuchel to Chelsea, Poch to United and Ten Hag to Bayern?

Silva can leave City this summer. Only if they receive a £50 million offer for him. I can’t see anyone paying that for him as much as I wish he’d leave them.

About to snap up Chadi Riad too. Freedman certainly has the eye and guts for signing young talents.

"It is understood Freedman has now decided to remain at Palace after agreeing a new contract that contains a significant pay rise. He played an important role in choosing Oliver Glasner to replace Roy Hodgson as Palace manager in February and is believed to have had second thoughts about walking out on the club again after such a successful end to the season brought their joint-highest Premier League finish of 10th. Freedman had two successful spells as a player at Palace but controversially left his job as manager to take over at Bolton in 2012 with Palace in contention for promotion – a decision he has said he has always regretted."

Newcastle have lost 8-0 against the A-League All-Stars.
Imagine being an Aussie Newcastle fan. You’ve paid good money to see your team play on their post-season tour, then they put out a team full of kids you’ve never heard of, get turned over by a patch-work quilt of an opposition team, and you don’t even get to see them play in the trademark black and white kit because their owners want them to play in their Saudi Arabia, green and white away kit.
I think they may be plumbing depths that even City wouldn’t sink to.

The senior players played Weds, there was also open training every day and all the senior players came out and signed a heap of autographs too after the game.
My man Callum Wilson gave his training jacket off his back to my mates son.

My niece also won $100 in half time game.

Arsenals women’s played the women’s all stars too.

All in all a decent night.

I get the whole "two games close together" thing, but the point is they shouldn't have organised it that way. If you're doing a tour, you need to put enough recovery and training time between games so that you can put a decent team out. You owe it to the fans to do that. If they're not going to see a strong team then don't hold a match, just do a training camp and meet and greet. Just more of a cynical cash grab than usual, and the Saud away kit thing really pissed me off as well - blatant sports washing. Just an example of everything that is bad about the modern game.
