In my view, of the little I've seen of Woodburn, his future lies as a Lallana-esque attacking CM. I just don't see him as a striker. He's really slight of built, and doesn't have great pace either, at least one of which is a prerequisite for a successful striker in England.I could explain that off as perhaps Klopp wanting him to play up front, but not in the centre, at his age and slight stature back then, against towering centrebacks who'd kick the shit out of him. I think there was a game when he was up against Shawcross or someone like that and he struggled because of his lack of build. He did still make a fool of the fella a couple of times with his pace and trickery.
Moving him back to CM - and even at times against Wigan - the deep CM role, is just odd. Wonder if Klopp's still figuring out what Woodburn's best position is at this level. Certainly hope he gives him a chance to show what he can do as a striker.
I think Klopp is right to try and develop him as a midfielder.
