A very small amount of twitter talk that this guy might be signing. I'd usually just ignore it but after Assaidi, you never know. Apparently he plays for Saint-Étienne as a striker and is very quick, anyone ever actually seen him play before?

If he played against Ha'Poel Tel Aviv 1-2 years ago, I saw him. If it is him - who I'm thinking about (I'm sure Binny will tell me yes/no) - then not good enough imo.

His Wikipedia page says we've had a bid accepted for €9m lol

EDIT: It's changed to €900m, must be true

If he was white, people would be more interested. As he's a half-Jewish, half-Muslim black - no one really cares. TWATS ... the lot of you.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Gabon)

That twenty-two year old Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finished joint-top goalscorer at the African Cup of Nations alongside such established figures as Didier Drogba and Manucho speaks volumes of this young man’s confidence and ability. The son of former a former Gabonese international, Aubameyang was born in the town of Laval in northern France in 1989, and was signed by AC Milan at the age of just seventeen. Recognising his potential, AC Milan sent the striker out on loan to French sides Dijon, Lille and Monaco in consecutive seasons to gain vital experience, where his performances were rewarded with a sole appearance for the French national under-21 side in 2009.

In December 2011, following a six month loan spell, Saint-Etienne secured the signing of Aubameyang on a permanent deal, where he has made a name for himself as a powerful and skilful striker, equally comfortable being deployed out wide or through the middle. Aubameyang’s goals for les Verts this season have been crucial in their quest for a lucrative Champions League spot, and his three goals in four games at the Cup of Nations carried Gabon to a quarter-final showdown with Mali. Tragically for Aubameyang, his tournament may well be most remembered for the penalty miss which eliminated his country, though at just twenty-years of age he has plenty of time to avenge that defeat.

Aubameyang only signed a contract with Saint Etienne five months ago, so a move this summer is unlikely. Lyon, Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain are perhaps the only clubs in France with the status or financial clout to tempt Saint-Etienne into selling, and a move overseas may still be a couple of season away.

I assume the bit about being comfortable in any position within the front three is the interesting bit

16 goals and 7 assists in Ligue 1 last season. Good return in a frugal league. Never seen him play though.

Careful. This could spark the revival of numerous threads highlighting which potential cunts we could sign with our whopping £4 million.

Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been voted the best African player in the French Ligue 1 for the 2012/13 season.

The 23-year-old scored 19 goals in 35 games (14 assists) this campaign and helped his club Saint Etienne win the league cup.

Aubameyang beat Marseille's Cameroonian defender Nicolas Nkoulou and Rennes' Burkina Faso midfielder Jonathan Pitroipa to the award.

The honour is decided by jury of 68 French football journalists.

Morroco's Younes Belhanda was the recipient in 2012.

All goals this season

Sahin played all 90 minutes though, together with Gundogan and Sven Bender. I didn't see the game but it looks like Klopp has switched his long-time 4-2-3-1 into 4-3-3. It seemed to work rather well...
