These types of signings makes me like Rodgers even more. We need more Suarez, Garcia, Sterling, Suso type players.

OFFFFFFUUUUUUCCCCKKKKKKFAAAAPPPPPPPPPPPPPSAAATIONAL!!!

I really am delighted with this news.
Ive really enjoyed watching him play when I have. He could be our Ozil.

Is this like a carved in stone certainty?

From no stepovers to a side bursting with them.

I don't care if he proves to be shit. He can do things with a football that make me smile.

Heh, when I first saw his youtube compilation I thought of you Ken. Your type of player.

He better be the shit otherwise I'm getting that Harry Kewell stepover vid out again.

Interesting signing and i suppose what many would term a 'moneyball' deal (although i fucking hate that term) in that he's young with bags of potential but hasn't fully been able to show it yet . I mean we're not signing a player inter were desperate to keep hold of , he has hardly played for them this year .So with that in mind he'll need games to be able to develop and prove himself .

Which leads me to wonder , what is the long term plan for some of our young players and are we going to be able to develop them all as we hope . I'm well aware the season is long with many games and you need squad depth but if this lad signs then that's him , sturridge , borini , sterling , suso and Shelvey to a lesser extent who all want to play in forward positions and who'll all need playing time . Plus what if we sign Ince or this Draxler guy ? . It could prove hard to give them all the time they need while keeping a strong team that's not disrupted by so much chopping and changing .

And it will be interesting to see what we do in the summer , we've quite a few options now , will we be adding further to these positions or is that it now .

Currently, it's Sturridge, Suarez, Borini, Coutinho (hopefully), and Sterling. So that's 5 players, vying for 3 positions up front. You can certainly knock Shelvey off the list, as the front three is not his position, and Suso' natural position is deeper, though he's capable of playing there.

If you consider it 2 players per position, we're actually short. So I can understand we're still in for another one of Draxler and Ince.
All good.

Fine but obviously they are not all able to play all roles in the front 3 and at this stage you'd have to say Suarez is a certain starter . Sturridge is then most likely to be the second name on the list , so you've then a few players vying for the other position . Again i am well aware that squad depth is needed but when that depth is made up of young players who all need playing time , how do you balance it to allow them develop to the standards we need and want while also playing a strong competitive team not upset by chopping and changing. I'm not saying it can't be done but long term i wouldn't be surprised if some of these players don't develop like hoped . For the team though that might not be a bad thing if the others reach the heights we want and are driven on by the competition for places .

You forgot about Andy Carroll.
