I'm not totally blind, of course I see your side of it. But how would it look if the cheerful mascot, so to speak, suddenly becomes moody and refuses to celebrate because he's not playing?
That national team has had difficulties before considering the different regions the players come from.
Pepe might be helping the team gel.
The players like him, the people seem to love him and he get's a medal for helping out in training. What's there to be moody about?
It does seem daft, but at some point casillas won't be there, & unless Ross is right, he will be, so he'll be an intrinsic part of the team already.

I think some of you are a little harsh - it takes guts to do what he does in front a national audience like that. Also I for one am very proud of the fact that there are 4 players there who have played for our club not too long ago (I include Torres in that for all his sins). Reina has been key for us since we signed him and is the reason why we have not had too many defensive worries since he has been our goal-keeper. Love you Pepe !!!!

Nope, care to explain how Pepe is 'afraid of the ball'?
Obv don't mean literally, just referring to Pepe's very poor form throughout last season where he was to blame for alot of our goals conceded - poor positioning, slow reactions, poor handling etc.
And i only gave a cuntish answer because you have to me before for no apparent reason, but anyway.

Can't believe some of you are being negative towards Pepe for this.
His attitude represents the 180 degree turn of the core of Spain's problems that Arragones worked to change.
Spain have always had issues with team bonding due to the strong allegiances that players had for their respective regions.
Now they're a closely knit unit, mates. Pepe always keeps that spirit alive.
Players look up to him.
What's wrong with his celebrations? Did he force the mic off some poor announcer, or was it given to him, as the players, the nation, and TV stations WANT to see that in their moment of glory?
Give him a break for god sake.

Red Mallet , Fabio thanks for sticking up for Reina - I really hope in the next season we win a few things so that we can watch Pepe do the same thing again for us - it will be great.
I really cannot believe some people - going on about his mistakes of last season, does it not occur to anyone on here that the whole reason why goal-keepers can lose confidence is when they cannot shut out from their mind their mistakes. Reina does that and thats why he is such a good keeper for us and like Red Mallet said - the other players in Spain look up to him.
