Pepe's Goodbye Letter

Did he take the mic in a fashion as to which rendered it sad or pathetic? I don't remember it really. He's always had a bubbly character though and seems a bit of craic.

Anyways, the cheerleader point is neither here nor there within this thread.

Peace.

but a few mins before played a shocking ball out and nearly got chipped .

Of course all players have their heads turned, it's how respectful the player is when it happens.

As many have said, if Suarez had come out and been honest, then there wouldn't have been an issue as such, fans would have been upset but there wouldn't be the level of bitterness for what has clearly been a poorly instigated, underhanded method by Suarez to get out the club. I'm not sure what your point is about Barnes, that all players flirt with the possibility? That's missing the point by a margin, Barnes insinuated a few times that he'd like to play abroad, most players have done that at some point, there's a massive difference between that and what Suarez did over his move and more to the point, what Reina did over United and Barcelona. To be writing what's become a traditional send off and then utilise it to cry about being poorly treated, is a bit rich, given he was giving interviews a few years back, offering his services to the team we despise the most. I'm struggling to see why any fan wouldn't "get" the difference.

Reina never actually left for Man U did he? barca is a boyhood club with family links. Can't blame him for being attracted to it, but he didn't leave for them. Let's not forget what an amaxing servant he has been. An amazing goalie - it's sad that people want to bring up the odd youtube mistake to detract from his service. For his service alone, he warrants massive respect for few players int he last 10/20 years have been as good as him for us.

Last one from Barrett's article - Napoli will pay about £2 million of the Reina's annual salary.

Seeing as no one was gonna buy him, I suppose we've gotta look on the bright side that we've got 40k a week off the books. A club would have to be fucking stupid to give a keeper 100k a week.....oh

how does this make any sense, especially when you consider the 9m layout for Mignolet.

I guess saving £40k per week on a player that is unlikely to play much if at all is better than nothing.
There in lies the danger of replacing a player before they are actually off the books.

This transfer kinds show we have grown a set of, in transfer dealings..

Lets hope that stays the same with Suarez..
