De Gea was supposed to be a really young Worldy.

I'd rather we kept Pepe and tried to be shrewd, bringing in a young'un and nurturing him through. I'd rather let go of Pepe from a position of strength.
 
Cech was useless for a about 2 seasons and since Jan last year is in the form of his life.

Think if we stuck with pep he could return to previous form.
 
Valdes has stated he will not sign a new contract at Barca.

So he will either be off at the end of this season at a cut-price fee ... or he will leave on a free after season 2013/14.

Would anyone take a Valdes/Reina swap deal?

I used to hate Valdes, never rated him & at that same time Reina was in fine form indeed ... but since then, Valdes has improved greatly and I now rate him much higher than Reina.

Valdes being 31 would probably rule out a swap deal as Rodgers prefers young players ... do we go with a young keeper suddenly thrusted into the LFC lineup or do we go with an experienced goal keeper who has won everything there is to be won, and at the age of 31 still has another 5 solid years ahead of him at the top?

Ter Stegen is being compared to Oliver Kahn for his intensity and how he shouts at his defenders. That's exactly what we've been missing since Carra lost his regular place in the team.

I wonder if we're scouting him ... He really should be available for 8-10 million ... and he'd be our keeper for 10+ years easy.
 
Hmmmm ... Spurs have Lloris, so that rules them out. United have De Gea, so that probably rules them out. Oh well, I guess possibilities! 😉

Hes a top keeper alright, his strength is top class, if he gets a hand to the ball it doesnt go past him, and he has that Khan/Scheimechel quality where by the ball seems to bounce off him and fly miles out of the danger area

My one concern would be his distribution, havent seen enough of him to see how comfortable he is with the ball at his feet

As I said in another thead, ter-Stegen is the up and coming goalie in Germany.

We should be quick though because United are sniffing around him.
 
Yep, 3 great saves and some wonderful distribution. Perfect pass to Coutinho for the first goal.
It meant a lot to him and I hope his form continues in the last 10 games.
Nothing would please me more than he proving that we dont need a new GK.
