In order to keep some sanity around here what do you say we collectively give the team some time to gel, tone down the negativity and see how it goes till December? It's too much to read the same old opinions and slating of the limitations of players. How about we give the players and manager a chance to find their feet, and not engage in ridiculous expectations for a club that's a bit of a basket case.

I include myself in this. What say you? Can we give them time to make mistakes to find their feet?

Also makes the place a more enjoyable read.

I say we make a 'post what you feel, whether it's negative or positive' pact.

Of the opinion it's a out of order for people to shout down and belittle posters comments just because they're deemed to be of a negative and pessimistic nature, what if that's how someone feels when it comes to discussing certain LFC related issues?

Fair enough, some of us myself included probably overdo when it comes to posting some negative comments about certain Liverpool players and wotnot, but at the same time, it could be argued some people have their head in the clouds/have blind faith.

Everyones entitled to their opinion but i think its a disgrace that people are running Rodgers down already when the season hasn't even started! I just hope that the owners have more patience than these idiots.

I personally haven't said anything bad about Rodgers, if I have, it was in jest.
But I'm a bit sceptic.

I just think you make a big issue about posters comments if they're in any way negative and it's a bit uncalled for imo.

Apart from that, i enjoy reading your posts(i'm sure that'll mean alot to you).

I don't mind people having concerns, but it's the sheer hysteria going round of late that's the big problem this summer.

Fail! Haha
Maybe the owners here should create two separate Football Forum - one optimistic and one pessimistic and ban those that flout the rule from these respective forums!

LOL

patience ? - your fucking joking arn't you ? - just LFC have changed from a title winning team in the last 20 years to a bunch of losers - so have the fans, the idea of giving time to a manager is gone. First defeat and it will be "Brendan Out" !!!!

It just gets dull seeing the same old opinions, slagging off players, manager. It's quite a job ahead. It's counter productive to get the same boot in week after week..

It would be nice if we could manage it but let be honest football is too nerve shreddingly emotional to ever be able to completely detatch yourself from it to the degree that you could sit through 5 months of watching Liverpool play without experiencing moments of joy and despair. Every fan reserves the right to be over the moon when we snatch a win in the last minute, or to be irrationally upset when we throw away a game from a winning position. The internet gives people the freedom to be complete morons if the want, its a freedom many embrace willingly. Its the same at a game, in any crowd there are a couple of bellends who think everything is wrong, every player is a donkey and we might as well just throw ourselves in the river on the way home, but they will be still be back there next week telling everybody the end is nigh, thats football. There is no logic to supporting a football team, only one team can win the league, only one set of fans, so the rest must find their dramas in the smaller victories whatever they might be. Otherwise why would we keep coming back.

I wouldnt want to support a team I could be that cold about. of course I'm happy to give the manager time to implement his ideas in the grand scheme of things, the job he has on his hands is fucking immense, the club is in pretty bad shape, it will take time and mistakes will be made but the initial post match reaction can usually be ignored whether good or bad because the emotions are still running too high. We cant keep chopping and changing managers, its too disruptive to any sort of progress, not to mention too expensive paying everybody off and then flogging their deadwood for half what we paid. This managerial appointment is probably the most important we have had since Souness, if this goes tits up then we will be well and truly adrift of the elite clubs in midtable Villaland, its a massive gamble but thats what its about. Going all in and seeing how the cards fall

Bring it on

I always wanted Van Gaal, I have no faith in this Brendan fella.

[sarcasm] That's the spirit.

I'm the same when I go the match.

In fact, I'm sure everyone slagged Paisley off when he replaced shanks.
[sarcasm/]

So we didn't get van Gaal. Boo fucking hoo. You support Liverpool, or you claim to, not some manager that you think would be better than the owner's choice.

Yes I have some doubts, you'd be mad not to, but when he's had a couple of weeks with half the squad & one game against a side whose season has started already, having a go is ridiculous.

Have some fucking patience people, if we get past halfway in the season & we are seeing no improvement in play or results ill understand questions about him, until then I suggest people remember teams don't turn around things overnight, esp without a massive amount of cash to spend & a with a large wage bill cut needed.

Fair enough. I don't mind people being negative, that's never really the issue, the problem is two fold, you get posters like hmmmmm who are persistently looking for something to moan at (he's started already about this coming season), and then you've got Modo who believes what he wants to believe in the press and get's into hysterics about it daily, when he's not telling us about how much Aquilani is our saviour. There's alot of fickle posting going on lately, it's not superfan bollocks, I think I offered up enough reasoned criticisms of Dalglish and all of our previous managers, I just don't lay it on thick every day of the week. Some posters refuse to praise anything and whenever there is something truly positive to say, they're always looking for the 'but'.

You always come across like a good lad, if I've had a go it's because you seemed to be going the same way. The Summer's always a long drawn out affair, usually there just ends up being a spurt of activity. Hopefully it will be one that will make (most of) us happy and we can go into the new season with a bit of hope.

Why would anyone go for this?

Surely the beauty of the internet is that you can slag off Carra every week for a year - pleading fro him to be sold, and then 10 years later, you can post to congratulate him on 700 games and being an amazing red.

Where else can you call Lucas a useless cunt who will never be good enough, to talking about how we miss him, with no-one calling you out for the fickle cunt you are?

Exactly!

I Said this to you last season, You are too blinkered on some posters you only ever notice thier negative posts.

That last part is presumptuous. I believe Cromwell said something similar. But obviously patience is needed, and much biting of tongues, sometimes other people's. (I've always hated slagging players and managers off. I don't feel any longer the same about the club, but you can't just give up supporting it, even if you'd prefer to go away and do something grown-up. I hope Rodgers does well and the team does well. I won't feel the same gut-wrenching anxiety, however, as it all develops.)

It's not just me who noticed (with you), so I don't think I'm being blinkered, I'm not the only one to point it out am I? You only have to go and read a selection of your last so many posts to see the general trend.
