It's about the Uruguayan rugby team. True story.

Crashes into the Andies. They eat each other to survive.

Yum.

While we are on the subject of horrific plane crashes, why do you still get the demo on how to use a life jacket on internal US flights that go nowhere near oceans? Do they instruct pilots to steer the plane towards a river, pond or lake as they are nose diving to oblivion?

Good point, no idea, maybe in case the pilot has to veer off course…remember that one who sucessfully landed a plane on water that was USA ..I loved that movie …can’t remember what it was called. Big court case after he landed that too…captain something or other …🙂

This .

On January 15, 2009, he became globally known as co-pilot of US Airways Flight 1549, when he worked together with captain Chesley Sullenberger to land the aircraft on the Hudson River after the plane lost both of its engines. They were widely celebrated for landing the plane with no loss of life.

Yeah, but that was a plane that had just taken off from JFK, and was only a few hundred feet up at the time

If you start plummeting, mid flight, from 30,000 feet, somewhere over Nebraska, you ain't gonna land in water

Very true Tom

Oh yeh, The movie was called Sully …Tom Hanks played the captain 🙂

I was in NYC on that day - everyone just went crazy when people realized what happened. I recommend rewatching that movie before your flight - it might calm you down!
