They lose Aguero and gain Pacheco.

Haha, their fans must be pretty whelmed right now.

Had he went to Rayo, guess it'd be more of a move to gain experience. With this move to Atletico Madrid, think it's probably in view to a permanent transfer.

Time to face facts; he must be crap. Norwich don't want him for a kick off.
I know some have clung to the belief that 3 successive Managers have something against him and that, given the chance, he'd eclipse Fabregas, but, nah.

That's the real clincher for me. He didn't impress enough at Norwich to get another loan ergo he's simply not good enough.

And he wouldn't even have to bend backwards to do it.

'whelmed'.

it's not often you see that word, people are always either 'underwhelmed' or 'overwhelmed', never just...'whelmed'.

People saying Norwich didnt want him and he must not have been good enough for them? he scored 2 goals in 6 games for them and got how many assists. He was a star, lets hope he gets game time at atletico and comes back to us a beast

The Norwich fans were very impressed and were disappointed that they never moved for him during the summer. The problem was that Norwich have a limited budget and they already have a good, small tricky forward in Hoolihan so with their limited budget they chose (rightly) to buy a right winger and an back up target man. If only they had bought a centre back good enough for the premier league it would have given them a chance to stay up.

He started his first game for them last night in the league Cup..................Norwich 0-4 MK Dons - not an auspicious start.

i'm confused ...obviously the club have said he's gone on loan to A.Madrid but marca say they were sending him straight on to Rayo which surely can't be done with a loan ? ...he himself on twitter said over the last few days that he was off to Rayo ! neither club have any mention of the move on their sites .
Oh Dani where art thou ?

It's been confirmed, mate. Can't be sure though. Translation of the article from their website says this:

Atletico Liverpool agrees with the assignment of Dani Pacheco for a year. The club reserves the option to purchase by the end of the season and the midfielder will play on loan at Rayo Vallecano

Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement with Liverpool to take over the assignment one season Dani Pacheco, keeping a player's option for next June 30, 2012. The aim of rojiblanco is that their young hopefuls fight over minutes in the elite and keep growing, so this year assignment as the Liga played in the ranks of Rayo Vallecano.

If I'm not mistaken, the arrangment is kinda like Atletico Madrid having 1st option on Dani Pacheco, with the exception being its Rayo Vallecano he'll be playing for, so as to allow Atletico Madrid to judge and decide at season end if they want to take up the permanent option.

If you're keen to know why Dani Pacheco is allowed to move to Rayo while on loan at Atletico from Liverpool, FIFA has a rule, 10.3:

''The club that has accepted a player on a loan basis is not entitled to transfer him to a third club without the written authorisation of the club that released the player on loan and the player concerned.''

So as long as they are all in agreement, he can go. Why Atletico want to do that is beyond us...

AM have a cunning plan

they have negleted to tell their fans kun has signed for city, they have also bought a lookalike and are hoping their fans don't notice...

Shame he doesn't get the chance to play for the first team. Can we just fucking sell him instead of loaning him every fucking season.

Probably not.

We don't seem to be very good at actually selling players

He does need other clubs to want to buy them though

It basically gets round the transfer window rules. Now he is in Spain on loan at Rayo, at any time Atleti can take up the option to sign him even if the window is closed.
Appara rules are different in Spain and it couldnt work that way in England.
So basically he has been sold to Atleti but they have loaned him to Rayo and can pay for him as and when they please.

Strange deal for us as you would think the most we will get is a couple of mill and surely we could have just got that now? We have basically just got him off the wage bill but i will be suprised if we ever get a fee this way.

Ahhhh well. Shame, he really was the first of our 'This lad is going to be amazing' acadamy signings/

I reckon signing Falcao, from Porto, will appease the Athleti fans, somewhat.
