The kind of bitter attitude that appears from time to time on here whenever Owen's name is mentioned is a bit pathetic and the sort of thing I'd expect from Everton fans.

We have no reason to hate Owen. He had a great record for us, was very important in us winning a few trophies then left to go to Madrid. I don't blame him for that.
We had a chance of bringing him back but we didn't take it. He didn't turn us down.

Ultimately though we haven't done too badly without him so to ridicule him because things haven't necessarily worked out so well for him shows a lack of class that I don't generally expect from Liverpool fans.

So if your wifey popped over to the neighbors for a quick morning session, seems like you wouldn't be all too fussed huh.

Your second stupid statement (or is it third) of a one and a half page thread

My opinion, don't like it, eat my shat son.

Very likely, but Rafa didn't instigate his departure.

The pictures are funny, but I think only a few genuinely enjoy whats happened to Owen

His fate genuinely makes me sad.

Wow. Thats four in two pages. One every half page. Good average. Son.

Incidentally, whilst you are entitled to your opinion, it would appear to be very much a minority one, on this topic anyway

he fucked us over and deserves everything he gets.

no way should a world class player like that leave at 23 for £8m, doesn't happen anywhere else . he should have signed a contract and let us get full value for him but he couldnt wait to leave.

has no one mentioned he's supposed to be talking to man u today

dunno what to make of that :-\

Hang on a minute. The fee was our own fuck up, he might have strung us along but we were naive enough (after Macca too) to let that happen. It was only Rafa coming in and having the balls to face the situation and sort it there and then that saw us get anything.

As for Owen, he carried us for years (unlike Macca) and was one of the best goalscorers and players we've EVER had, so Richey is spot on, show some respect and act like a fucking Liverpool fan.

I don't think any Liverpool fan watching Owen sat on the bench against Graz (?) in 2004 was thinking "well, 8M isn't bad and after all, it's our own naivety that got us here". It was a mess that Owen and / or his agents created and exploited. The guy gets respect from me, but I'm not about to rewrite history for him.

Neither am I, they exploited our naivety and his name will always be tarnished because of that, but we did allow ourselves to get into that situation and it doesn't change the fact he's one of the greatest strikers we've ever had.

And let's face it, he's paid for his decision in a big way, I don't see any enjoyment in kicking him though.

I wonder if Rafa would have let him go if he hadn't have been saddled with Cisse? Anyway, it was Owen's advisors who really deserve all of the bile. Delaying the club for months and then...going on sabbatical!

[/quote]

"I'm sure that you has a seeking suspicion" - and it's me with "shit for brains"? You thick cunt.

I'm not entirely sure that one of the bigger clubs will break cover for Owen, but then again most, if not all, have infinitely better back up options than we do.

I wont be surprised if/when Man U do come in for him to see a load of bleating on here about "twice a judas" "why didnt we use his friendship with carra and Gerrard" "weve missed out" etc etc etc.

Why not just do the deal now and get it wrapped up. 40k on a 1yr +1yr deal is about the same money you'd have to pay Jason Roberts.

Oh silly me, skipped a letter whilst typing on my phone. Happens from time to time. You probably messed up your punctuation because of the same reason. Haven't noticed you on the forum for a while. When were you released?

You're of the view that Rafa instigated the move?

And allowed the agents to run the contract down to ensure we got peanuts for him?

Can't agree,Vladders.

Anyway, if he wears the Scum shirt, I don't care what anyone says.

And I don't care what he's done for us..and he did a lot for us.

If he goes to Old Trafford, he's scum.

In more ways than one.

Especially if (as is being reported) he takes their offer of a pay-as-you-play deal, when he (reportedly at least) turned down a similar offer from us.

Skully nails the issue with one succinct sentence.

I think there are too many people making a judgment on what they think they know, or interpreting history to suit their opinions.

Even when Owen was scoring goals for fun, and dragging us through game after game, just like Gerrard of recent years, and being a model professional, he was being maligned, and was never going to be the same darling of the populous as Robbie was. Why should it be any different now?

I don't particularly want him back, he has seen better days, but the disrespect he is shown based on no more than speculation is a scandal.

Are poor maligned Mikey's delaying tactics in the FINAL YEAR of his contract and the shameful shite with his agent taking a sabbatical speculation?

I have always felt a bit of sympathy foe Micheal, regards the way he has been treated by our fans. HOWEVER if he does sign for them scummy cunts, then I will join the club and wish him nothing but misfortune.

Owen like every other stupid cunt, associated with Liverpool, could see that Ged was on very thin ice, months before his contract was up, and wanted to see what was going to happen before he signed.

Of course the agent - the stupid prick, they did not have the internet and mobile phones then did they ...oh wait?

Rafa didn't fancy him, he wanted to bring in his own striker, Cisse was more or less forced on him, and so was decidedly cool to Owen , Owen takes the hint and fucks off, anyone that thinks that Owen really wanted a move abroad after he had spent years getting his dream home and stables and family sorted is an oaf.
