Looks like Benzema might be going to Real...

Lyon midfielder Miralem Pjanic has denied that he said team-mate Karim Benzema was close to completing a move to Manchester United.

The 19-year-old was quoted as stating in a Bosnian newspaper on Tuesday that the striker was just days away from switching to the Premier League champions for £38million.

Benzema has been strongly linked with a move to United as well as Real Madrid, Barcelona and Arsenal in recent weeks, despite declaring a wish to stay at Lyon for another season at least.

However Pjanic insists he said nothing which would suggest the French international is heading to Old Trafford.

"I have not granted any interview to the media. I do not know any other answer to say to you because I said nothing," he told Lyon Capital.

Real enter the race

Meanwhile Real have revealed that they are set to unveil another big name signing on Wednesday, leading many to suggest they are close to securing Benzema's signature now that previous target David Villa looks set to stay at Valencia.

"We do not discard the possibility that in the next few hours, something could happen," Real director Jorge Valdano told Onda Cero.

"Nothing will happen with Villa over the next few days because Valencia have not changed their stance."

As it's been almost 20 years *spits* since we won it the last time, to be on almost even par with the Scum at the bookies pre-season is more or less them telling us that they predict us to cruise to the title.

Real must be offloading half a team very soon.

Can't see how they can accommodate any of the offensive Dutch players, bar Nistelrooy, into a team with certain starters such as Kaka, Ronaldo, Benzema and Raul?

Maybe United will pick up a few of the Sneijder, Robben and Van der Vaarts now it seems they are loosing out on yet another target?

Or are they going to put all their eggs in Valencias basket?

Marca is claiming now that REAL MADRID have signed Benzema. A friend of mine in Madrid is saying that's the word on the street now there.
 
Real madrid have agreed a deal with Lyon for Benzema according to Benzema's agent.

If United wanted any of the 'Real rejects' you would have thought they'd have negotiated them as part of the Ronaldo deal.

Wouldn't rule Huntelaar out, though. They could do with a clinical finisher.
