Just hand them the fucking title. getting tiring

Raheem's just too good and West Ham are just that fucking crap

That's not VAR per se though is it. It's the damn stupid rule keeper/penalties change when it was not needed. Previously refs just used common sense.

Well yeah. The new rules are so ridiculously pedantic and nobody asked for them. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. VAR is then used to microanalyse these new rules.

Apparently the pen was retaken for encroachment.

When the encroachment isn't relevant, though, just use common sense.

The rule was only for any body part to make it easier for the lino though, now that they're using VAR & can examine it, common sense should prevail & it should be feet only. Your hand, shoulder, cock, whatever, being an inch or two further than the defender doesn't give you any advantage.

Yeah, I didn't like the way VAR changes how offsides are judged after seeing it in the Women's World Cup.

But with how we defend with that high line, I'm guessing it will benefit us overall.

I think West Ham looked really decent in first half and forced City to step up which they did.

We did not have the same requirement yesterday even though are 4-0 HT was not quite deserved.

We just need to keep doing what is necessary as City has done for past two years.

Agree completely. And, that is an easy judgement to make on review. Much harder than any decision regarding intent like handball was.

But, okay with precision of GK feet - if an inch matters to a ball crossing the line, they should matter here too. But, I think we will find a much higher % of penalties are scored and other adjustments may be need in future to align offense with punishment - eg moving spot back by 1 yard, ruining the fung shui, but not much else.

I remember the glee when around when we got £50M for Sterling.

Now I think it's one of the best pieces of business in the Premier League era.

Similar to Ronaldo sale. High at the time, but when you quantify the amount of goals he'll score and trophies he will contribute to then it's an absolute steal for City. He's improved for City, but was always brilliant for his age, on a consistent upward curve whilst able to play a lot of football. I know his agents a little cunt, but when Sterling is sharing a dressing room with Lambert and Ballotelli after selling Suarez, it's an extremely straight-forward and logical decision to leave.

Real shame we didn't have Klopp or a better squad when he was around.

Absolutely right. We went backwards after selling Suarez.

I also heard that Sterling didn't have a very good relationship with Rodgers.

Our U23's got thumped 4-0 to Spurs today.

7 goals conceded in 3 days.....not good.

They get their best players taken for the first team, a lot more so than in any other top team, & a fair few new players in to replace them from lower ages, again more so than other top teams, so I wouldn't bother reading too much into the results until we're much further into the season TBH.

Yep Van den Berg and Hoever didn't play.

No Eriksen Alli Vertonghen or Son today for Spurs

Edit: Eriksen on bench, Son suspended, Alli injured, not sure about Vertonghen.

Yeh but looking at that team....Larouchi Chirivella Kent Jones Elliott Brewster...lot of experienced players there.

Doesn't do them much good...especially likes of Brewster who many thought would crack into first team himself.

Villa will lose this one. At this level you need to score when you are on top, otherwise you'll get hammered. Ask Norwich, ask West Ham.

Different circumstances, neither took the lead...Villa have something to hold onto now and they've done ok since scoring.
