Actually really impressed with Daniel Sturridge's punditry after the game tonight. Offering some really good insight but also happy to just be himself rather than pretending to be what he thinks a pundit should - none of the usual cliches, and really enthusiastic about his subject. More of this please.

Admit didn't see tonight but his previous appearance was a breath of fresh air

Football commentary, discussion and punditry has turned into copying those that came before. Most obvious one being the Saturday Sky guy using exactly the same delivery as Jeff. The most damning thing being the female pundits seemingly emulating their male counterparts

I’m not sure would describe his lips as “Aussie”.

Now now Stevie, there’s no need to feel embarrassed on his behalf by way of association, he’s a sexy man is Ange.

Aussie aussie aussie, oi oi oi.

No doubt - but Dreamie’s about as Australian as me - actually he’s probably more Australian.

Which reminds me - I really need to get that citizenship sorted.

Coming up on 5 years a citizen now. Unfortunately while I may be average for the Irish I’ve done nothing but drag the Australian gene pool down by becoming a citizen 😀

Hah… I’ve been hear 20 years straight next month (+ another year split by a year in NZ) - still not taken up citizenship.

Altbough I have added to the reduced gene pool with the demon nuggie!!!

I thought you were talking about being here on SCM. Bit congratulations anyway.

Just watching the match highlights (Spurs v Chelsea) now. What the fuck is the commentator smoking?

"Spurs ahead in no time, penetrative and to the point" ! Kulusevski's (sp.) shot was deflected at a 90 degree angle FFS, the keeper had no chance and it certainly wasn't a good strike !

Ange deserve some praise but the defending last night was some of the worst I've ever seen:

Agreed

And Chelsea's inability to play a simple pass or dink the ball over the top meant they missed out on an easy 10 goals. Sterling was completely free time and time again, and over and over again Chelsea would play the ball straight to the keeper. It also didn't help that Jackson was constantly offside (or lazily walking back from being offside) and Mudryk came on and was largely abysmal.

Spurs play against 9 men, lucky to win with a last minute own goal.
Spurs play with 9 men, ultimately humped by late goals from a (currently) bang-average Chelsea side.
Ange will improve them, but this will be a transitional year for them. They're lucky there's an international break coming up to minimise the impact of the injuries they picked up last night.

I actually think he deserves some heavy criticism ! It was just stupid to play that high line when Chelsea had an extra 2 players on the pitch who could make runs, they were obviously going to break them sooner or later, even being as bad as they were.
We showed that with 9 men you can still be effective and dangerous on the break (and Spurs had the players to play that way with Son etc.).

I meant for how Spurs how played this season in general.... Last night was just stupid, reckless and not a very good look him.

Romero will miss 3 games:

11/11 Wolves (a)
26/11 Villa (H)
3/12 City (a)

Van der Venn did his hammy so we won't see him until the new year. Maddison's injury was a weird one and if they get some luck he might be back for the Villa game. So that leaves them with Dier, Emerson-Royale (more a RB) and the 18 y.o Philips as CB cover

It’s mental. Couldn’t believe Carra was praising it after.
He's the golden boy with pundits at the moment. Everything he does gets described as gold.

That high line was just hilarious. I was just waiting for one of his CB to pull another hamstring with those futile full sprints to chase down a bunch of quicker opponents.

I thought the Maddison injury looked like an achilles or something, but then again he did play on for a bit. Its never a good sign when a player goes down without contact injury wise.

Van der Ven will be out for months I reckon.

Yeah, he was holding the bottom of his ankle so that was my take too

I do, yes. It probably isn't rational, but I've always really hated them. I've always found their fans very annoying.

I don't like Chelsea either. I don't like many clubs at all. But for whatever reason I have never hated them in the same way.

Got to this part late, but here goes...

Theoretically, I have no issue with Spurs. Always liked how they played as a kid with Hoddle and Ossie and Ricky Villa's goal and all the stuff... Also thought Gary Mabutt a criminally underrated player. But, in reality, it's their fans... F&#$ me! They've got some attitude for a shower that haven't won an argument in decades. Add to that Harry Kane, and now I despise them behind only the 'big' four.

Adeyemi looking like a bona fide young potential Salah replacement for the future in the Newcastle game tonight.
