Lukas Podolski on the CSL:

http://www.espnfc.com/chinese-super...-podolski-chinese-league-will-never-reach-top
[article]"Sure, it's tempting to hear you could earn €15m to €20m in China, but the way of negotiating -- with eight, nine agents sometimes interfering there -- is close to that of criminals," he said.

The 32-year-old added that while wages in CSL might be higher, "what goes into your account in the end will be significantly less given all the dark channels involved."

Despite a number of high-profile stars moving to China in recent times, Podolski said the league itself will not have a big future if it continues on its current path.

"I like China, I have got many fans there, but the football over there will never achieve something like the Bundesliga for instance," he said. "The way they act right now, they will never achieve their goal to become the best league.

"Just looking at what happens behind the scenes, it's about anything but football."[/article]

Chelski have agreed a fee for Bakayoko, 40mill. So it's not good enough that they play with a flat back 5, and 2 defensive midfielders infront of that in Kante and Matic, they're now buying another DM?! They going to go 8 at the back now instead of 7?!

No, they're going to sell Matic.

Not sure if that'll come off after the Lukaku thing, unless they manage to fleece utd out of some ridiculous fee for him, like 60mill.

Everton opening bid for Sigurdsson (about £40m, inc. add-ons) knocked back. Swansea still want £50m.
Fucking insane. 45-50 mill £ for Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Average of £28m paid out for each of Keane, Klassen and Pickford - you can see why Swansea are chancing their arm.

Everton should walk away from that, but I reckon they'll pay it - they've obviously got a very decent budget outside of the Lukaku money.

Aye, but they have already passed £100m. Add in the £40m they are prepared to pay here and a rumoured move for Benteke, and I doubt Lukaku, Barkley and Cleverley will cover that.

Apparently, City and Spurs have agreed a fee of 50 million for Kyle Walker.

Fucking hell!

While Juve are apparently asking for €40m for Bonucci from AC Milan who have agreed a contract worth €6m per year with the player. 😱

Spurs always get too dollars for their players. I guess city are continuing with their all out attacking fullbacks, I think they might struggle again next season if they don't add some steel to the side (I.e won't come close to the title again)

£40m for Sygurdsson is mental, he's literally just alright.

Wouldn't disagree, but that's the market these days. There will probably be more outrageous deals than this one before the summer's out.

I think the big issue is that we can all remember when these same players were moving for a fraction of the cost. Sigurdsson went to Spurs for under £10m, then moved onto Swansea for pretty much the same amount - he's done nothing in that time to justify a £30m hike in fee.

But, it seems £30-40m IS the new £10m.

Look at Sunderland. Paid £10m-ish for Gordon, PL record for a British keeper. Sold Mignolet - their first choice - for £10m-ish. Everton buy Pickford for £30m!

Mendy also on his way to City. 40 mill £.

Didn't they spend 160-200 mill £ last year. Looks like the two Manchester clubs might spend comfortably more than half a billion pounds over the last two summers combined.

Walker for 50m is nuts. I actually think Trippier showed himself to be a very productive full back for Spurs towards the end of last season and I wouldn't be surprised if there was a large number of fans who would rather see him starting over Kyle. In that sort of situation, getting 50m for a player is insane!

Trippier is nowhere near Walker's level and doesn't benefit Poch's system in the same way.

Spurs fans are bound to say they prefer Trippier anyway, they're deluded grandiose fuckers!

If they get 50 mill £ for Dier as well, then Levy has once again showed how good he is at selling players.

100 mill £ for those two players. Fucking hell.

I was impressed by Trippier but then I only saw the MOTD level highlights but he got a few assists towards the end of the season and in my view was a contributing factor to them banging the goals in for fun in their final 8-10 games.

I wouldn't say he has done nothing. 3rd highest assist in the league after Erikson and De Bruyne, not too shabby. Without him Swansea will be in the championship easy. 50m seems abit excessive but totally justified from Swansea's standpoint. He is literally the difference between relegation and not.

Yes, brilliant at dissembling a young team, fluffing his Alan Sugar-esque ego and keeping the trophy cabinet completely bare.

They were on fire (once any chance of winning the title was gone) and the whole team looked fluid.
