I think you're arguing with yourself , @Hansern .

Only isn't disagreeing with your argument against agents but Lukaku clearly isn't going to Utd BECAUSE of his agent

Saying the agent has nothing to do with it is equally as perverse, IMO.

Anyway, Aubameyang is linked to AC Milan for £70M and 135k a week. Sky saying Dortmund would accept that figure. I'd be all over that.

He would have been less likely to go to United if he had a different agent. Clearly he knows United and is set up to get better deal from them for Lukaku, than he might have at Chelsea.

I don't reckon Lukaku chose United because his agent told him to, but that his agent got a better deal from United.

So what you are suggesting is that Lukaku wanted to go to Chelsea, but his agent refused their offer to EVERTON, because he wasnt getting a big enough cut and Lukaku just said ok, i'll go united?

Wise up ffs.

Wise up yourself. Now you're just making stuff up.

No, you clearly missed the point. The point me, and several others are making are that agents have to much influence. I'm not suggesting that Lukaku doesnt go where he wants to in the end, but his options are getting limited because of it. Surely you can see that?

Its been reported that Chelsea baulked at paying the extra agent fees, which was also an issue with Pogba and Real last season, you can clearly see the influence I'm talking about.

Thats why I added the sum spent last season in the PL, 220 mill £. Its bonkers.

So to not cause a misunderstanding again. The influence of agents on transfer deals. To much. Influence.

Dude..

I misunderstood nothing , simply reiterated that Lukaku clearly wants to be at Utd and there's talk of him agreeing to go there with Jose , months ago.

Yeah agents are the devil, yeah they earn too much and yeah they undoubtedly impact transfer destinations , to in their best interest too. Maybe that caused Chelsea to think twice BUT ALL of that is moot if player A wants to go to club A and club A will pay him what he wants and love him etc etc etc which is what we have in the not so curious case of Lukaku

It might have been less cringey if it wasn't Mourinho in charge at Utd when he was also the one who insisted Chelsea on selling Lukaku without having any buyback clause.

Yes. The agent advised the player to leave. The player (the agents boss) slapped the agent down and re-signed.
Whats your point?

Oncy, you and those agreeing with you seem to think all players are mature and strong-willed enough to stand up to heavy pressure from their agents if they want to. I reckon that's highly unrealistic. Agents, especially senior ones like Raiola, can twist their clients' arms pretty powerfully and not all players will be able to resist that. It's possible that Lukaku wanted United all along, but there have been plenty of smoke signals to the contrary in the media. None of us knows for sure, but that includes those of you who think this was the move he wanted.

I dont know mate, its been reported quite a lot that he wanted Chelsea. In the end only he knows obviously. Doesnt really matter to us either, where he ends up. I just have an issue with a 10 mill agent fee in a 75 mill transfer deal.

Speaking after sealing his return to Everton, Rooney shed light on a interesting secret...

"To be honest, I’ve kept it quiet for the last 13 years but I’ve actually been wearing Everton pyjamas at home with my kids," he said. "I had to keep that a bit quiet!

Im confused at the point you guys are trying to make.

http://metro.co.uk/2017/07/09/romel...to-secure-manchester-united-transfer-6765339/

Is the suggestion that his agent influenced this transfer? Because 'reports' because 'Hearsay'

Because someone somewhere has said that Raiola will earn more with him going to United so he just said ok, even though he would rather go to Chelsea?

Im struggling to get it.

He lives in Manchester, his best mate lives there and plays for united and he has stated again and again thats where he wants to go.

Hes not some 17 year old looking for a big break.

Anyway. Its a fairly boring conversation that I dont really care about all that much, im just baffled by the whole idea that hes potentially lying and or been railroaded by his nefarious agent to turn down what he wanted to make said agent more cash.

Now, I dont really give a shite where Lukaku goes but the point was that agents like Raiola and Mendes shouldnt be anywhere near football. Their influence is massive it seems. The fees are crazy, and most of the money could and should be spent elsewhere;

But they are brilliant at what they do. While I despise the way they operate, I wish I had someone like that by my side whenever I asked for raises (quite unsuccessfully, I might add).

Hahaha, oh yes. If you hired Raiola to do the negotiating I bet he'd end up with 60% of your wages.
Mendes would end up owning 25% of the company.

I would be deliriously happy with a 10-15% instant raise followed by a 3-6 % constant annual raise after that. You, Raiola, Mendes, or Satan is more than welcome to keep the rest of my wages.

Forgot to add: I will also need a one-time bonus to make a trip from the US to Anfield for me and my wife.

Is that a real quote?

Everton are about to spend 32 mill on Gylfi Sigurdsson now.

They're paying inflated fees for just about every player this transfer window. But according to their own fans, they're the new superpower in English football. Okay....

Even at current rates that's a really good buy, if it's proven to be not more than just rumours. Their midfield was looking rather untested however if they add Sigurdsson that is a major upgrade.

Naaah, he's not that good. I think Barkley is better (and 4 years younger) and he's off to Spurs appaz.

Has there ever been a team lose so many of its key players in one window as Roma have in this?

Totti (retired)
Salah (us)
Rudiger (chelsea)
Paredes (zenit)

Are they still owned by FSG? If so - should we have concerns that the club are so open to a mass exodus of big names? I'd hate to be a Roma fan right now - huge losses with only an average CM coming in so far (Pellegrini)

Haven't they signed the alchemist sporting director guy from Seville? If he's behind all this activity, I imagine they'll be ok.

Maybe Monaco in the summer of the 15/16 season:
Martial (Man Utd)
Kongdobia (Inter)
Kurzawa (PSG) / Abdennour (Valencia)
Carrasco (Atletico Madrid)

One year later, league champions and CL semi-finalists!

They have signed 4 players so far mate. Its Monchi working his magic again, I guess.

Karsdorp, Hector Moreno, Pellegrini and Gonalons.

Karsdorp and Gonalons are very good signings, for 14 mill euros and 5 mill euros.
