I dont think the media is 'making' people gay by any means, there's always been young boys that liked dressing up in girls clothes & being effeminate, but I dont doubt for a second that the media is undoubtedly making it more 'glamorous', perhaps even fashionable to be gay & camp, which encourages more kids to be like that, & I just dont see that as right.

If that makes me homophobic, then so be it. I'm not gonna say I have loads of gay mates, cos I dont. I have one gay mate, who I see only very occasionally. I do go to Garlands & the G Bar occasionally, & yes, the sight of men necking each other in the G Bar isnt particularly pleasant, but I'm in a gay bar, so it's my choice to be in that environment, the tunes, atmosphere & fact it's open so late/early outweigh the fact I may be uncomfortable at some things.

To sum up, I think it's surely not simply a 'lifestyle' choice, but something much more profound & meaningful than that, & I believe the way the media approaches gay & camp men encourages young boys to believe that it is fashionable to be gay, instead of something they simply either are, or aren't.
