Ah, yes but it’s only been six games or so.

Go to YouTube and search for his goals for Benfica just to see how awkward he can be— he can create goals for himself as well.

I reckon he's giving Klopp a bit of a dilemma, because it's pretty clear he's better playing with a strike partner in a front 2. It allows him to be off the leash and play off the last defender. But it means Klopp has to abandon his beloved 4-3-3 in the long term (or does it).

Really good tracking back and reading of the game from Nunez, but poor effort from Hendo.

Not sure what our midfielders are up to this season. In the first half they had a number of chances right outside the pen box, our CBs had to come scuttering out. Both Fab and Hendo were MIA. It's becoming clearer that our midfielders have not been providing as much of a cover this season.

Fab has been really disappointing so far. Our lighthouse has dimmed its lights.

I think both Henderson and Fabinho have largely been poor this season, one of the reasons I haven’t clambered aboard the blame Trent bandwagon.

Nunez has been the new air of life we've needed this season. Shame he's only 1 of few.

Too many old dogs from 5 years ago that need freshening up.

Next summer is going to be our most interesting summer we've had since Coutinho left.

Do you what this page is missing? A link to the tweet showing Nunez tracking back and putting our midfielders to shame.

Tbf Fab does "sprint" back into a good position but he's just sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sluggish the pass is already made before he can even try intercepting. Hendo on the other hand.....that's the captain of the club.

Where is this "he makes the chances for himself" thing coming from? All his goals are from crosses
Some of the shots against West Ham, and the 3 chances he created against City. Its clear to me with his pace and strength he has a bit of R9 in him, and a bit of Torres in him. We need him more than ever to play in all our league games especially with no Diaz and Jotta because we really are shitting the bed in our away games.

Guys - I just wanted to say that I have proper full on man-love for Darwin, I just think he is going to be awesome for us. I can see him scoring 5 against Leeds, I know we are playing bad, but just to watch him do all that crazy shit is worth watching Liverpool this season despite the inconsistency of the rest of the team. We all knew he was going to be special - I mean getting sent off on his home debut in the league is something special no one will forget. I can't wait for the next game.

Yeh I agree with ya.
he’s more than an interesting player 😀
Love watching him !

Klopp talks about Darwin's XG. The table below illustrates where he stands compared to other forwards in the same age bracket.

The only thing that any of you should take from what Klopp has said is that his numbers are incredible thus far. On that matter Klopp is 100% right.

Graphs like that do my nut in. He’s above Haaland, who I’m sure is gutted as a result.
Thankfully, Nunez is starting to turn XGs into Gs, and that’s all I care about.

The graph doesn’t show he is “better” than Haaland; they are about even in expected goals. Nunez is higher in expected assists - but I doubt it will translate into higher actual assist numbers because passing is not his strength - he will get into positions to play a teammate in, but will more often than not get it wrong. However hopefully he will increase his conversion rate to match Haaland - I think he can at least get close.

What it does show is that his movement and ability to sniff out chances as a striker is superb. A player who takes 5-6 shots per game from good positions WILL score lots of goals.

Then you're missing the point. It's very illustrative.

Sorry - I’m still not convinced by him.

Im not saying he’s shit - just that he’s not the player we need.

I’m still holding fire before I join the Nunez fan club, but when all our strikers are fit, maybe he is what we need. He’s unlike any other striker we have. Could have easily scored a couple today.

He played a few really smart passes tonight, like the one to Firmino at the start – and there were a couple where the idea was right, but not the execution. This is encouraging – he clearly sees his teammates and doesn't always go for the obvious option. But poor execution on a certain % of passes is just something we will have to live with, just like we did with Mane.
