He played a few really smart passes tonight, like the one to Firmino at the start – and there were a couple where the idea was right, but not the execution. This is encouraging – he clearly sees his teammates and doesn't always go for the obvious option. But poor execution on a certain % of passes is just something we will have to live with, just like we did with Mane.
Yes he played some really smart passes yesterday. Surprised me. Clearly he is starting to integrate.

There was a moment about 60 mins in where he picked up the ball about 30 yards from goal on the right side. He had Elliot infront of him through the centre and Salah in space to his right. Instead of getting his head up he he tried to lash one in from a ridiculous position and it dribbled about 10 yards wide. He's genuinely got some of the worst decision making I've seen in a top level player.

Mane built up a lot of credit though. Nunez has yet to do that.

To be fair to him. Strikers in every team do that from time to time. It just looks really stupid when you hit 10 yards wide.

Was that any worse than Mo's or Hendo's ridiculous attempts? There was a genuine lack of composure in attack, as the clock ticked on, because earlier they were excellent.

Henderson's was the worst by a mile.

Mo's might have been a pass to the back post that went wrong. Or a daft effort. Either way, you could see some sense in it.

Can't see Mo passing to him again in a hurry. He'd have buried that chance himself last year. Puts Nunez through instead who just hit the thing hard when a chip over an oncoming keeper is what we're used to these days. Ah well.

I’m still holding fire before I join the Nunez fan club, but when all our strikers are fit, maybe he is what we need. He’s unlike any other striker we have. Could have easily scored a couple today.
Or his poor control when put through on goal missed what he should have easily scored
Do agree though, he does give us something different. Can't blame him for that shitshow years, the whole team was useless bar probably robbo and alisson.

If he had actually controlled the ball better with his first touch he would have had time to do more. He sold his shot and was easy for the keeper

Nunez will be fine. He did a lot of good things yesterday, like bringing others into play etc. I just hope they are not tempering his wildness too much. Less exciting than previous games . That fucking goalie had a g9od game though.

Well he did it again didn't he ? To win games we need him, but he cannot do it by himself.
People may say "well all he had to do was toe-poke it over the line" however as I've boringly mentioned numerous times, he has that striker's instinct of being in the right place at the right time and that's why more than 50% of his goals in Portugal were from within the 6 yd box. We've missed that.

Oh well done you pricks - you actually realized have you? - they must have done a few math lessons to work and then someone told them about his actual game he has played to his goals. Am really sick and sick of how people have decided to forget that Suarez was missing shit loads in his first six months with us, before he actually started scoring proper. Yet Darwin does something weird in one game but scores and still they just go on and on about this 'crazy guy, weirdo, no control, can't finsih' - FUCK YOU ALL !!!! - there is a name that has existed for strikers that score at his current rate ... PROLIFIC !!!! - He is scary because no defender can get into his head !!!
