I'm done mulling over that shambles today.

----------------Mignolet-----------------
Flanno----Skrtel-----Sakho---Agger
----------Allen--------JH/LL----------
---------------Gerrard----------------
--Ibe/Aspas--Suarez---Coutinho

Get McLaughlin and a couple of other lads on the bench, give a rocket up the arse of Johnson, Moses and co.

Fucking stuff Norwich.

Please, please, please, no one post "must win game". The most pointless saying ever, cos you know we can't afford to lose? 😵

I'd go...

--------------------Mignolet--------------------

McLaughlin----Skrtel----Sakho-------Johnson

----------------------Lucas--------------------------

--------------Henderson----Allen/Alberto------------

------Ibe----------------------------------Coutinho
--------------------Suarez--------------------------

If Rodgers is bold enough

Mig
Johnson Skrtel Sakho Flanagan
Henderson Gerrard Alberto Ibe
Suarez Aspas

I'd play 2 up top rather than aspas as a winger. If he can get a goal against Norwich it could do wonders

Anyone but Gerrard. Play the club cat, I don't care. This self-adoring, strolling, solipsistic dinosaur needs the kind of treatment that made him scratch his head melodramatically when Rafa, quite rightly, subbed him. He's had his testimonial. The season isn't meant to be his testimonial. It isn't cricket. Rest him and his ego and pick someone who'll actually fight for the team for 90 minutes, not nine.

Sakho needs to start and it's blowing my mind that he's been on the bench the last two games.

I don't even want to think about this for another 24 hrs .... I'm still fucking fuming about yesterday.

Mingolet, McLaughin, Skrtel, Sakho, Cissokho, Lucas, Allen, Alberto, Sterling, Suarez, Ibe

Assuming both Coutinho and Toure won't be fit enough to start.

.........................................Mignolet...........................................
Glenjo...............Skrtel..................Sakho................Flanagan
McLaughlin..............Allen...........Henderson............Ibe
.......................Suarez.......Coutinho................................

Aspas in for Coutinho if he fails a fitness test.

.......................Migs
Johnson...Toure...Sakho....Flanno
................Lucas...Hendo
Moses............Allen...........Ibe
.....................Suarez

Gerrard needs a 'rest' he's suffering from that same bullshit that sterling had last season when people realised he was shit. Burnout/tiredness or whatever they called it. And he's not got the legs to play off the striker like he used to, he strolls around the part spitting hollywood balls as it is. He's the new Jan Molby.

Moses isn't working out, he looks lazy as fuck and campo would probably do him in a sprint. But, as we're short for options in the wing-forward role he'll have to play.

I suppose the only other option is to go 442 with a not-match-fit Aspaz?

*edit*
I prefer Pesam's team to mine.

I like the look of that team, can McLaughlin play RW? Not seen that much of him.

---------------Mignolet-------------
-------Skrtel--Sakho--Agger-------
Johnson--------------------Cissokho
-------------Henderson--------------
---------Gerrard----Allen------------

bring back 3 CBs and we NEED Cissokho for his width up the left, and Johnson similarly on the right as no one from midfield upwards will stay out wide.

Lucas over Hendo maybe, but I think Allen back in the middle would help bolster the centre.

What ever team picked the same XI need to play the next game as well, baring new injuries of course - or key players coming back from injuries. Continuity has got to be key now.

I guess I'd go for:

..............................Ming...............................
Johnson.........Toure...Agger..........Cissokho
........................Henderson............................
................Gerrard...........Allen.......................
...Aspas..........Suarez..................Coutinho...

At least this lot should be able to retain possession and bring back some fluidity to our front line. If there's any talent left in Cissokho now is the time to show.

With regards to formation I actually don't mind Brizzle's shouts either but I guess I am more pro 4-3-3 than 3-5-2 with the players available.

We have had 4 clean sheets all Season and Agger has played in all of them, 2 with Skrtel and 2 with Toure, why I believe it should be him + 1. Skrtel has after a great start to the Season looked less convincing of late why I'd go with Toure.

I've no idea tbh but he certainly loves to get forward and he is very quick and skillful so should be able to adapt to the position. I think he's played wide left before for the ressies.

All of you that suggested Aspas - get a grip.

He's shite and needs to be shipped out in January.

I have got high hopes for Ibe and McLaughlin, and at a push I'd like to see perhaps one of them given a starting birth sometimes soon.

However in a must win game at home, with pressure increasing I'd be very reluctant to put too much responsibility on such tender shoulders. If we should lose playing two youngsters in their first Premiership start it could take a while to get them back on the right track. I believe similar mistakes was made with Raheem and he has not looked himself ever since.

This game is for the more seasoned pros imo and they desperately need to deliver.

Aspas, at home in a game we should dominate, would be a better fit than Moses or Sterling imo.

Otherwise agree, he certainly needs to step up.

I think the problem with Raheem Sterling is not that the pressure got to him but that he wasn't technically ready for first team football and I remain unconvinced that he ever will be (at the required level for LFC). I think there's far more chance that Ibe is ready to make a very big impact.

It's time to forget about how shit players have been in the past and stick them in our teams in the hope they'll suddenly become good!!

Cissokho, Allen, Aspas, and Borini will be much better than the players they weren't good enough to dislodge from the team!!!!

You may be right, and I also rate Ibe more than I do Sterling.

However I have seen it quite a few times already over the years, with ourselves and other teams, that too many youngsters in a team under immense pressure have got a tendency to under achieve. It is like the sum of their parts bulks under pressure and most of them will struggle to make an impact.

I'd rather we lost with Cissokho and Aspas than with McLaughlin and Ibe if that makes any sense.

It makes perfect sense and it's reckless of me to suggest risking McLaughlin AND Ibe but it's more of a case that I don't want to see Moses or Sterling anywhere near the first team against Norwich and we have no other options without sacrificing width.

------------------Mignolet
McLaughlin---Skrtel---Sakho---Johnson
------------Lucas----Gerrard
Henderson----Coutinho-----Moses
-----------------Suarez

-------------------------------------Mignolet-----------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------Skrtel--------------Sakho--------------------------
----Ilori--------------------------------------------------------McLaughlin----
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------Rossiter----------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------Chirivella---------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------Teixeira-----------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------Ibe--------------------------------------------------Coutinho--------
------------------------------------Suarez--------------------------------------

We need pace on the flanks and that's what Ilori and McLaughlin have in abundance. Although Johnson has always had lapses in concentration, he seems to have lost his spark going forward that made him an automatic first choice. And Flanagan gets a nose bleed as soon as he crosses the halfway line, that's not something we require when we must beat a side such as Hull and Norwich. We need to be more creativite in the final third and the front three here will most certainly provide that now that Sturridge is missing. Although I think we should dispose of Coates, Agger and Skrtel and bring in one top class centre half such as Benatia so we have an actual centre back partnership that comes from playing week-in week-out, Skrtel has played quite well but I just feel we can do better. Then the likes of Toure, Wisdom and Ilori should be capable understudies. We could do with our reserve team midfielders ageing by five years. Every team is already by-passing the midfield with ease, this lot couldn't really do any worse. Teixeira's in a rich vein of form with 4 goals in the last 3 reserve matches. Rossiter has impressed everyone by how he's handled the step up to reserve football and Chirivella will be our future Alonso, every time I've seen him he's got star quality written all over him.

Sadly our manager has no idea what his best team is when we have a few injuries. That should be a basic requirement. His tinkering with the back four is bizarre. His picking of both Moses and Sterling together was bizarre. He was shown up tactically but Steve Bruce. STEVE BRUCE!
Dreadful team selection. No motivation. Non-existent team talk at half time. Too late to make changes.
He seems to give every player the 'arm round the shoulder treatment' when it's clear a lot of them need a fucking massive bollocking.
Fucking clueless.
As for Weds night. Struggling to give a shit. We'll probably win.
