It's an unknown player from Portugal valued at an outrageous fee and represented by Jorge Mendes.
I'm willing to bet there's some ownership stake in him owned by Mendes and he's pocketing a couple of mill as a thank you for something else.

He’s not really unknown, is he? Scored 18 goals in Primeira last season, played for Monaco before that. I’ve heard that Spurs tracked him for some time - but like with Slimani, I have doubts about his numbers translating from Portugal to the EPL. This type of a “physical” striker/target man from a smaller league rarely works out here. The likes of Afonso Alves and Spurs’ earlier attempt at a Harry Kane back-up Vincent Janssen come to mind.

He's 25 and has less than 50 career goals in way less competitive leagues.
Mendes regularly gets his players a spot at Monaco and Mourinho teams - Falcao being a prior example.
I wouldn't read into it that this lad is any good because of that.
Well, Falcao was actually a great striker - flopped in England near the end of his career, but that happens. But yeah, like you say, this Vinicius lad only has one good season in the Portuguese league under his belt. Wouldn’t compare him to Bebe, but he’s far from a sure thing. It’s not easy to flourish as a back-up striker to Kane anyway.
He'd done his ACL and wasn't wanted by his club at the time so United and Chelsea did Mendes a favour by taking him on loan.
United also got Di Maria around the time , another Mendes client.
Mendes is also Mourinho's agent isn't he ?
And Mendes and Peter Kenyon (United and Chelsea exec) were in business together to obtain stakes in players too.

Nah. Zlatan was a player that relied on nothing more than his own prowess with the ball (technical ability, finishing, skill, vision). Cavani is nowhere near that level. He's just clinical.
He hasnt been very clinical these last few years, thats the beef PSG had with him. He needs many chances before he gets a goal.
