I'm not saying I'm for or against them. I'm neither. They've done nothing that's pissed me off or impressed me. Yeah, they fired Roy and hired Kenny, but that was what everyone on here was screaming for. It was hardly a curveball from left field or whatever these fucking septics would say.
One thing on this - does not the fact they listened to the fans say something ?
No.

Come on dude. What does it matter what people say? Look at Torres. It's what they do.

Course it does mate. Point I'm trying to make is they did what the fans wanted by bringing in Dalglish. Been a long time since we've had that. I'm not saying they (FSG) are perfect merely that the signs are positive and encouraging. Like you say actions speak louder than words but it'll be a while before we know for sure. I've just not seen anything up to now that's giving me massive cause for concern.

No me neither. Kinda like a turkey on Bernard Matthews farms, everything looks great, the people seem nice and even as the winter starts setting in they just feed us more grub. It's great here, I never want to leave.

Like I say, time will tell mate. None of us can read minds and thus true intentions. There's a huge amount of speculation that's perhaps unfounded (or maybe not). I'm like you in a way. I'm fed up about worrying about it and I just want to start enjoying football again - not the sideshow that accompanies it. For first time in years, absolute fucking years of drudgery, misery and depression, it's starting to feel a little like that again. As much as I'm feeling positive about that side of things the constant speculation and suspicion of our owners that goes on upon a daily basis is starting to suck the life out of me. I think a lot of it is a hangover from our previous scum owners but I guess that's somewhat understandable. I, however, have a little faith in our new owners. I truly don't believe they're in it just for money. They're incredibly rich as it is. I think they want something money can't buy - glory, success and the feeling of rebuilding a fallen giant - just like the Red Sox. I think that's their drug, their buzz. They also seem to understand us far more than they're given credit for and are pretty much as far removed from the two cunts as you can get. The only synergy between them I see is nationality.

I might be massively wrong of course and most of this is gut instinct but I'm willing to give them a chance and I actually have a bit of faith which is based on nothing more that my personal thoughts and feelings. I'm sick of thinking negatively if I'm honest. I truly feel a bit of positivity for the first time in God knows how many years. I hope those feelings come true because I really can't deal with another Hicks/Gillete scenario - it would break the relationship between me, football and Liverpool near enough permanently.

Sums it up for many of us.

One thing I'd add though, I think a lot of people (definitely not inc Krump in this) are determined to be suspicious of the owners & are actually trying to find fault.

Anyone who thinks SoS, an organisation that exists now almost solely to push for control of the club on "us, the fans" behalf dont have a vested interest in being as critical as possible about NESV & undermining them is deluded. I'm sure most of the members dont feel this way but their group is being steered by people who truly believe shared ownership is the only way forward & this will taint their actions in future IMO.

Add into this a mix of fans who are simply distrustful & would prefer to air their grief than publicly support the owners for fear of being proven wrong again & you have a very skeptical & hard audience that NESV has to converse with.

It's a shame, I prefer to take the view that, yes, they are businessmen, but their track record in sports & their actions thus far give me confidence in their ability to take us to another level within the league & do so in the manner befitting our club. until they do something to make me believe otherwise I will continue to support them.

I think that's a top post. I disagree a little in that I think that money can buy glory and success - but it can't buy the feeling of rebuilding a fallen giant; you have to roll your sleeves up and fight in order to taste that particular vintage.

The main point, however, is the emotion towards the club I feel just now. My commitment and love for the club didn't change but it has been more of a weight I carried or an obligation I felt rather than a joyful commitment. I can't wait for the next game just now and I haven't felt that way in a long time. There's been a slightly naive, frivolous joy that's returned to football in the last few weeks. By nature we want to attribute that to someone and the most appropriate contributors are Kenny and the new owners.

I personally think there were easier ways to make money for them than to buy a football club on the other side of the world; particularly after the abysmal trial the previous owners endured. That would have warned off anyone looking to make a quick profit IMO yet these guys stayed in the fight. I think that demonstrates their interest and their intentions. I'm enjoying the football right now and, as Shankly always intimated, the owners/board are simply enabling that just now so I'm very happy with them.

I'm 90% with all y'all. It's just the bit about winning things and their way of doing it. They're competing with global uberwankers who shovel cash into their clubs. If we win the league in the face of that (which I doubt) then it will be down to Dalglish or whoever succeeds him, and not a bunch of nerds from the USA.

But Kenny won't do it without their support. Like it or not, they have a massive part to play.

Exactly! We could have ended up with some of the afore mentioned "uberwankers" who didn't give a rats about the club, those who are important to the club or anything of the sort. The fact they didn't rush anything, the fact they acted when they needed to and made the right decisions when they acted is the point.

I would like to think that we're heading into the same kind of symbiotic (except on three levels) relationship as we used to espouse; the manager, the team and the fans. Our current owners don't seem intent on being in the spotlight and, hopefully, they'll continue to provide support in the corridors while the manager, team and fans resume their rightful positions. Make no mistake, however, NESV are the power behind the throne now and they will be when we crest the table next year.

I know it's still early days but this has kickstarted my day:

'it gives me goosebumps to think we could deliver a premier league title.

It's what were there for, we have no other agenda.'
Pah!

Don't they know that true utopia is measured by winning a league match away to Everton?

If we win the league it will absolutely have something to do with our owners. Winning the league is a long term project, and I don't think winning it once is NSG's project. In order to compete long term against those who "shovel cash into their clubs" it will require a good academy system, good scouting, good management, and good players.

How can you have each element of the club running well without it being run well at the top?

Anyway, it's academic. If we win the league Krump will be in a long line of people ready to give Tom Henry et al a rimjob, such will be the joy.
