Two of the best RBs over the past 10 years have been released.

San Diego released LT
The Iggles released Westbrook

Who are the Iggles and who is LT?

Iggles = nickname for Eagles (Philly)

LT = Ladanian Tomlinson

April's my favourite time of the year!

By May I've realised we're shit again.

I've been thinking, and I've concluded that the Lions, quite in spite of themselves of course, might draft quite well. They really need some offensive line chaps, but the draft is balls deep in them. So you pray the Rams aren't completely retarded and that they forsake Suh and take a signal caller. Then you take Suh. Or McCoy if Suh's knees are bothering you. And then you hope someone like Bruce Campbell (or even Bulaga or Charles Brown) is still on the board at 34. Then life is looking fucking rosy, especially as we won't even have had a sniff of a pick yet.

Sam Bradford just weighed in at Indy looking like Superman. 6'4'' and 236lbs. Dude must have lived in the gym since he did his shoulder. Shoots him right back into number one pick contention with Clausen.

The Rams DEFINITELY take a signal caller, dude. No doubt in my mind. If they take Suh or McCoy then everybody in that organisation needs to be fired.

The press LOVE them some Bradford, and they seem pretty icy with Clausen. Playing for Notre Dame doesn't do you many favours these days. The Bradford train will go bananas now, so that's looking a likely pick. Which is good news for the Redskins because Clausen is the elite QB here. Bradford is fast and accurate, but played behind an unbreakable offensive line. Clausen played behind clowns, took snaps under center, and only threw four picks last year. I believe he is ready to go day one. Weiss was tailoring him specifically for the NFL. His mechanics are good, he's a great leader and decision maker, and played last season out with a fucked toe. Whoever gets him is getting a fantastic franchise QB.

Lions are more or less guaranteed their pick of Suh or McCoy unless the Bucs are desperate for one or t'other and trade up. I think McCoy is the pick, given Suh's surgeries.

Suh is a beast. Colt McCoy may never recover from the grenades Suh was throwing at him in the Big 12 game. But he was playing in probably the best defence in college football last season, and they had a quality deep cover, allowing Suh tons of time to drill people (especially in that Texas game). He has had two operations on that knee. You have to ask questions about that, although he seems to have shown no ill effects from them. He loves his training though, so he'll probably pull up trees in the combine and get himself out in front of McCoy.

If I had to guess right now, I'd say the top five, barring any trades, will be -

1. Bradford
2. Suh
3. McCoy
4. Clausen
5. Okung

I see the Dez Bryant to Tampa thing is gaining some steam. They're not brining Antonio Bryant back, and beyond him their receivers are worse than ours. If they're serious about Freeman, then they'll need someone to catch. Also, he measured up at 6'2'' and 225lbs. He is a truck. Obvious character questions, but...

I know it's been done to death, but when will Tebow go (and when should he go)? I reckon he'll go early 2nd round, though that is generous.

I'd take him in the 5th if he's still there 😉

The wildcard in that scenario is Jacksonville. They are completely fucked as a franchise, and might resort to taking Tebow purely to sell season tickets. They lost something like 12,000 season ticket holders last year, and were blacked out in local TV markets for every home game. Tebow will sell them out for two or three years just by signing. But it won't be a football decision in any respect. They'll probably trade down for this though. Taking Tebow at ten is a risk and would mean gumby money. I don't think they have a second round pick though, and leaving him is also a risk. Especially as I reckon the Pats are looking at him hard. Belichick knows Urban Meyer, and he thinks highly of Tebow. Could be a second rounder right there.

Really JJ, you never said.

:-[ Sorry about that. Thing is I still can't quite believe it. It's been a VERY long time a-waiting.

I'll try harder, honest. ;D

. And then you hope someone like Bruce Campbell is still on the board at 34.

Bruce Campbell benched 225lbs 34 times last night. Then he comes out this morning and runs the 40 in 4.78. If Al Davis sees that then Campbell is going top ten to Oakland.

MC - I hope you become a regular poster in the NFL threads. It's great having someone who's really 'in tune' (at least compared to me!) with everything that's happening there.

I prefer the college scene, but I'm sure I'll pop up to indiscriminately cuss out Jay Cutler and Jerry Jones from time to time.

Trindon Holliday ran the 40 in 4.22 earlier. That is plain fucking ridiculous. Think it's the fastest combine time ever.

ESPN reporting Bush is certain to return to the Saints on his existing contract. That is a fat cheque.

4.22? Woah and MC, sorry mate, I expect you to post thoughts (like Ryan does for Liverpool) after every weekend in the NFL. With you and Whad, it will be like Boomer & Tom Jackson on 6cm.

Was reading that ... sorry, had to catch my breath for a second ... that Phillips said Roy Williams' starting spot isn't guaranteed. Things he could have said uuuuh at midseason!

I heard Boomer was being courted by the NFL Network, not sure what became of it.

Texans coach Gary Kubiak, signed a contract extension through 2012, if anybody cares.

I was just about to tell you not leave Whadappie out of your "in tune" people list, he lives in Dallas and has his finger on the pulse man. Plus if he was born and raised in the US, he would have been a great free safety.

Rico - have faith

Karl - what are the chances we land that Earl Thomas lad from Texas to be our starting safety once we cut Hamlin?

And my 'Miles Austin' pick for next year is Kevin Ogletree ... He's got the potential to be a big contributor for the Boys next year.

Chances are good, I believe Houston has something like 15 unrestricted free agents this year, and they have said they are not in a rush to re-sign any of them until after the draft.
