NFL 2014-15 (Offseason / Draft / Regular Season)

AFC - Pats (unless Indy can pull out a 77-76 on the back of an effort from Luck)
NFC - Packers

Funnily enough, those 2 teams have been largely tedious when you consider some of the others.

I can see a Seahawks-Steelers Superbowl.
They seem to be peaking at the right time.
Rodgers and the ol against that stingy Seahawks defence is going to be some matchup in the nfc should it play out that way.

I don't think the Steelers will get through Brady.

I think the only team that could beat Seattle is Dallas - and they'll most likely lose to Detroit (they are a nightmare matchup) next Saturday night.

Steelers have been performing like a sine wave this season. Peaking against good teams and then getting humiliated against absolute shite teams next week.

Very difficult to predict how the Steelers will perform in the playoffs.

ay - they are dangerous ... maybe I"m underestimating them (especially as they have an excellent running game)

Clint Trickett retires from football after 5 concussions in 14 months. He sits out the Liberty Bowl game.

AFC is crazy ...

San Diego - win and you're in ... Down to KC.
Baltimore - win and in IF SD lose ... Down to Cleveland who's being QBed by some rook from SC
Houston - win and in IF SD & Baltimore lose ... Down to Jacksonville ...

If all stays as is ... KC is in with their back up QB!

Cowboys smashed the Skins ... Romo 4-0 in December with 1 pick ... First Cowboys team ever to get 4 straight games with 37 points ... and yet, we're facing a match up nightmare if we get Detroit or GB. I can't see us getting by either team - despite the roll we're on - and that sucks ...

You know you done fucked up when the McCaskeys sack two people on the same day. That's like a decade's worth of sackings to them. I like it. Sack everyone! Fuck Ted Phillips too before he can hire Ballard back. And cut Cutler. Nobody is going to trade for that contract, but we've paid half his guaranteed so long as we cut him by March. Someone will give him some kind of contract, and we'll only ave to pay whatever the difference will be. I'd rather put up with a season of Jimmy Clausen than look at Cutler again.

Suh has been banned for a game - he's appealing. He's a fucking idiot and I doubt the NFL will let him play. With Fairly out too, I'm slightly more confident we'll keep up with the Lions offense ... Remember last time Megatron came up against us? 300+ yards receiving.

I think it's the Seahawks everyone has to worry about again. They got over their midseason wobble and with Wagner back the defence is back in business.

The Cowboys had a very easy schedule - 2nd easiest in the league. And their defence is shite. They might beat the Lions but that's as far they go.

You can only beat what's in front of you ... The defence is not shite - it's average, but has played very well of late (12 turnovers forced in the month) and the CBs are actually doing a pretty good job the last few weeks (bar the two big plays - one to Maclin and one to Jackson). Playoffs are all about ball control (check), momentum (check) & two good lines (1 of 2) ... They could surprise but as I said earlier - I'm not very confident vs the Lions.

I think playoffs are about having a QB who can go deep, and who gets hot.

I think only Pittsburgh has a worse defence than the Cowboys - of the playoff teams.

Well if you believe in QB, then we have that and he's as hot as anyone in footy (top rated QB in the NFL, 1 INT in december etc) and has the ability to hit Witten, Williams and Bryant on deep passes ...

Yup, but you've got to face the top two defences and the likely MVP in the playoffs, so you'll be doing it the hard way. And I think the Cowboys will get found out because those stats were put up against the 2nd easiest schedule in the league.

I'm thinking a Patriots v Seahawks Superbowl but with the proviso that Big Ben could upset the Patriots if the Steelers get that far - which they shouldn't.

My gut says Patriots vs Seahawks too. Steelers are dangerous but if Bell doesn't play, very one dimensional ...

Harbaugh to Michigan confirmed.

So Harbaugh, Meyers, Franklin, Dantonio - all coaching in the Big Ten. Expect them to play a significant role in the national championship playoffs in the next 3-5 years.

I'd like to see the Cowboys win it Wiz, for Romo's sake. He gets a lot of shit but put up a great season while playing with back problems all year.

I had a chat with @Whaddapie about this ... Romo numbers wise has actually been in a very good group of QBs - just below the best in the league. He does get a lot of shit - but that's what happens when you QB a team that still lives in the past. He's been amazing this year ... He may have one run in him but I can't see it this year for the reasons you raised ... But who knows - considering how things have fallen into place for us in general this year - maybe we can fluke it like the Giants did a few years ago! 😉

Suh's ban overturned.
Bad news for Dallas.
Still think they'll have enough weapons for Detroit.
Although they'd probably better of playing in Ford field.
The expectations in Arlington are going to be huge and that's when Romo is probably at his worst.

Excellent bowl game between A&M and the Mountaineers. Unfortunately the Mountaineers lost.

All other games I have watched seem rather one sided.

Clemson routs the Sooners. Arkansas hammer the Longhorns.

TCU routs Ole Miss which was a real surprise for me.

Looks like Bell is doubtful for the weekend game against the Ravens. Steelers might struggle without him.

Everyone loves watching Bob Stoops getting hammered. Calls to sack him are harsh though. Post-Barry Switzer that program was a disaster until Stoops came in.

TCU smashing Mississippi was great. And should create some fun if Bama destroy OSU tonight. Wasn't surprised TCU beat them, but the margin was a little surprising. TCU are a proper team though. Patterson has done wonders there. After this result, we won't see a repeat of this year's 3rd-to-6th hosing they got. I was more surprised that the Jackets beat Miss St to be honest. They execute the option brilliantly, but I thought Miss St had more in them, certainly on the run defence. When Ross caught that crazy Hail Mary on HT I thought the Bulldogs would find the momentum, but Days and Thomas ran straight through them in the third quarter. Thomas's acceleration is insane.

The Boise/Arizona game was good value last night. Love Boise. And they love the Fiesta Bowl. So glad they held on. I've enjoyed a lot of the games this year. Notre Dame/LSU and Arizona St/Duke were good games. Huskers/Trojans was wild. No defence being played at all. Over 1000 yards total offence between them. First half of the PSU/BC game was shit, but the second half was great stuff. Hackenberg is for real. He has no type of team around him but he still looks the business. He was clutch in the fourth quarter and OT.
