Later than usual, but this is the first major leak for next season's kit. Word is that New Balance have gone as far as slapping a gag order to address the issue of kit leaks, thus rumours have been very little so far apart from the fact that we're getting a 'toxic' green third kit and a black away kit.

The new Liverpool 16-17 home kit combines Liverpool's traditional main color red with yellow applications. It is expected to be released in the coming weeks.mce-anchor

LIVERPOOL 16-17 HOME KIT

This image shows the new Liverpool 16-17 jersey.

Made by New Balance, the Liverpool 2016-2017 kit boasts a very classy design that combines Liverpool's iconic red with yellow applications. Liverpool's 2016-17 comes without any white details.

A traditional polo collar and a very subtle hoops pattern on the fround round off the look of the Liverpool 2016-17 home kit, which is set to be combined with red shorts and socks. The outer back of the collar of the Liverpool 16-17 jersey will read the number 96 in respect of the Hillsborough disaster.

+1

The new Liverpool home shirt stands in contrast to the last two Liverpool home kits, while it is quite similar to Warrior's first Liverpool kit that was released in 2012.

As always with such leaks, some design elements of the new Liverpool 16-17 home kit could change between now and the release.

Pretty decent, but reminds me of this season's Chelsea home top.

That would be the best home kit in ages if that's true. The introduction of a yellow crest coincided with Bob Paisley's great side becoming a bit more expansive and stylish on the pitch, so it's a welcome coincidence.

When I was about 14 I decided I preferred dark chocolate to milk (Bourneville Dark vs Cadbury's Dairy Milk). The preference lasted for maybe a year.

My Mum still includes dark chocolate in every Christmas, Birthday and any other excuse present since then ... I'm now 50, and I dont really like chocolate that much, but she'll never know

My mum still buys me random Liverpool merchandise on occasion, despite the fact I've never worn it after the age of about 12. I haven't the heart to tell her after so many years.
Mine does too, she also buys random t-shirts that mention Irish rugby (she's not tight but she would never fork out the money for a replica top) and she even bought me a Celtic pillow case when I was about 16.

I've never followed Celtic in my life. I've no idea where she got the idea from.

I do now, you ungrateful little scamp.

What's with the gag order? It looks nice and all but there's hardly any innovation.

Preventing any details to be revealed by 'ITK' people on the internet to stop bootleg versions popping up prior to official kit sales maybe. Details about new kits usually leak way ahead of official release dates and are more common under bigger brands (adidas, Nike etc.) because they sponsor a wider range of clubs.

Rumours (like that first time Warrior made us a purple 3rd kit with tribal designs) normally go on overdrive at around mid-season point, so New Balance should be happy that they've managed to delay that up to this point.

Was the last time we had a grandad collar on the kit that green and white blocked away kit from the mid /late 90s?
