Hasnt Capello said hes retiring after the WC?
He said England would be his last job.
Very unlikely, but we could change his mind, who knows?

Poor the khl, another fucking car-crash of a thread filled with his unique mixture of vapid, ill-informed, laughably biased and often plain incorrect views

I don't think you'll get that many presents come Christmas.

Wenger played for Strasbourg, that's why KHL mixed it up with Monaco.
Fair enough but the argument was that Wenger came from managing a small team in France and was a complete unknown. Monaco were one of the strongest teams in what at the time was a decent league, and had a number of internationals. Strasbourg I believe were not.

The only reason anyone has heard of Laudrup is because he was a great player. He is not a great manager.
Preaching to the choir,mate..agreed 100 percent.

Laudrup has done decent work with smaller teams, and does play attacking football but nothing to suggest he would get the Liverpool job, unfortunately I feel if Rafa does go we wont be shopping from the Mourinho/Hiddink price range for his replacement and managers like Laudrup will come into the reckoning, unless of course Rafa does the decent thing and steps down rather than clinging to power until he is sacked and triggers a massive payoff. Id like to think he would do that if we lose to Villa but back in the real world it seems pretty unlikely. Id like to think if we were going after a younger manager that Blanc would be considered but he supposedly has a handshake agreement to take over at Inter when the Jose eventually jumps ship, he should be sounded out either way

Larry White has done well at Bordeaux so far, but he's a lot less experienced than I want our next manager to be. I don't want to take a punt on a newcomer and I'm not convinced we'll have to. The Liverpool job is still one which big names will find attractive, if they're available.

Not so sure, we are still a big name alright but we dont have the funds to match the big clubs if Rafas contract has to be bought out and there is no budget to rebuild the squad. Add to that the warring boardroom factions the lack of movement on the new stadium and the huge pressue to deliever immediately its not the most attractive vacancy you could imagine

I was having a conversation with a villa supporting mate the other day and although i dont want oneil he seems to be high on most peoples list. He asked me why would oneil leave villa to take over the current liverpool set up, and I really couldnt think of a good reason why

Liverpool are a bigger club, with a bigger fanbase, far more famous globally, and far more successful

We've been playing in and around the top level of football for over 30 years and Villa haven't finished ahead of us in the league for a fucking eternity

Is right.

Prestige comes first and foremost. Take a look at Real Madrid, they've been the graveyard of many a decent player, and a temptation too great for even the canniest of managers, even though winning the league doesn't ensure survival.

I can see why managers wouldn't want to manage Liverpool right now, but I can think of tens of reasons why people should.

Laudrup is one of the biggest managerial talents around hence I've mentioned him, and he's quite the attacking-minded one too. There are others outthere as well who'd tick those boxes.

I'd probably take an upcoming manager like Laudrup (with Dalglish and Carra as sidekicks perhaps) than Mourinho at this stage. If we need a change we can just as well make sure changes is made.
And if he doesn't come, we could ask his brother instead. And if not him, his Dad. Then his mother and his pet goldfish, if necessary.

After the Laudrup clan have all turned us down, we could approach Bent Larson, the Danish Chess Grand Master - He knows his tactics.

And if ALL of that fails, there's always Morten Harket, who, though Norwegian unfortunately, is currently at a loose end, between writing hit albums.

Some more of khl's 'next liverpool manager' recommendations:

1)Michael Laudrup
2)Brian Laudrup
3)Michael and Brian's Dad
4)Jan Molby
5)Torben Piechnik
6)Danish McDaneDane
7)Denmark the actual country

How about some Danish bacon? I've heard it makes a few rash decisions but IMO it's bound to lead us on a winning streaky.

You are way of the mark here.

I'd never suggest a Norwegian manager.

Lol-a-little

Instead of acting like an obnoxious 12-year-old bully with quite the vocabulary, as you're doing 90% of the time mind, you could instead be your own witty self.

It's much wittier.

Anyways I hope that we'll appoint your favourite moaner if Rafa were to leave and we'll then win the title. I'd love to be proved wrong and I'd be the first to admit it.

Oh happy days.

PS Mourinho < Laudrup

Well, of course he is. Pablo Sebastian Mourinho is Jose's little-known second cousin. What's HE ever done in football?

Well.. what a waste of my time.

Reading 6 pages of pointless abuse with very little logical and sensible posts throughout. Brendan.. you can turn some threads with potential into a complete waste of time with your school boy bullshit.

What i want in a manager is a winner. Someone who has the players respect and their complete backing and understanding. Someone who can come in and keep confidence high and have the players enjoying their football and have the crowds enjoying watching. A Manager with the potential to sign exciting proffesional players and the worlds best and finally.. a manager who looks after the values of the club and has the dignity and respect to keep the clubs great name and history intact..

Mourinho fulfills the majority of what i am looking for but i still have my doubts. He strikes me as a man who loves history and has a soft spot for us. BUT.. sometimes he lets his mouth run and although his quotes are funny and his mind game techniques almost always work he sometimes goes too far and is just incredibly disrespectful.

I would want whoever comes in to be fluent in English.. So Hiddink, O'Neill, Mark Hughes

Mark fucking Hughes !?!?!?!

Jesus Gareth what's got into you ? The boyos I guess after your coming out speech this week.

Hate to say this after 6 pages, but...

Rafa just isn't leaving is he?

*breaks into tears of depression*
