Jose Mourinho 3/1
Could the special one swap Milan for Merseyside. He surely bought a return ticket when he left England for Italy, will he be landing at John Lennon Airport in 2010. The next Liverpool Manager job would be exactly the unusual step that Mourinho would relish and some bookies have him as favourite!

Kenny Dalglish 15/4
King Kenny could well be tempted back in to management at his beloved Liverpool. The bookies make him a strong bet to return to Anfield, it could be very soon.

Guus Hiddink 5/1
The board may be reluctant to sack Rafa but the financial implications of not qualifying for the Champions League cannot be overstated, it would be a disaster. Guus Hiddink would start a rebuilding programme and steady the Anfield ship.

Jurgen Klinsman 7/1
Klinsman has strong ties to England having been a hero at Tottenham.

Martin ONeill 9/1
Martin O Neil may well be tempted by Anfield but he has done a great job in the West Midlands with the quiet support of the Chairman.

Oswaldo De Oliveira 13/1
Brazilian manager who is currently working in Japan. Cant see it ourselves.

Bernd Schuster 17/1
Left Real Madrid and is looking for a vacancy. However there seems no reason why the board would favour him over other candidates with closer ties to England and Liverpool.

Marco Van Basten 17/1
The Next Liverpool Manager is going to have to a pedigree in football that their knowledgable fans respect. Van Basten looks like a manager in waiting for Anfield. Marco left Ajax and is our tip to replace Rafa Benitez.

Frank Rijkaard 21/1
It would be fantastic if Rijkaard was in the Premiership. The Liverpool Managers position seems perfect as we expect Benitez to go sometime soon.

Marcello Lippi 21/1
One day he is going to get a job in the Premiership, will it be as the next Liverpool Manager.

Gerard Houllier 21/1
Former Liverpool Manager who had some great years on Merseyside. Could be seen as a calm presence between warring factions in the boardroom.

Van Basten? Klinsmann? De WHOlivera? Schuster? Houllier? No way ...

I'd be ok with Mourinho (i'm still not sold he can win with a squad that isn't as stacked as Chelsea/Inter were) or Hiddink or Lippi.

Not sure it's smart for Kenny to come back ...

Exactly. It worries me.

At this moment I am just about able to stomach Jose Mour but like LTW says, he might not be able to do so without cash. His reputation is blemished because of Chelsea.

Personally Lippi & Hiddinck are the best for me out of that lot. Rijkaard would be an interesting option too.

Whoa Mark, your reputation is at stake here mate.
Its just my opinion mate,No one elses.

Mourinho is a cert for me.
Is Rafa is even close to being sacked?

And do people think he has the humility to walk if he fails to get us (at least) 4th place?

Houllier would never get the job. For all his qualities (and he does have many despite what some say) he couldn't win the league before and I doubt he could do it now. If there was a vacancy any manager with any kind of link to us will get mentioned

The only situation where Kenny would take the job is temporarily as a caretaker if we need one

The number one choice would be Mourinho obviously.

And as for those bellends bleating on about 'the Liverpool way', 'negative, ugly football' blah blah blah, I have some words of advice and education:

Shut the cunt up, you haven't got a fucking clue what you're on about.

We aren't *interested* in beautiful attacking football unless it wins trophies.

All Liverpool exists for is *to win trophies*

That's it, nothing more.

Mourinho please
Are you not in the slighest bit worried he'll struggle to push a solid squad with two stars considering his success at Chelsea & Inter came after the squads were already fantastic.

Mourinho please

But it's very unlikely
Is it that unlikely though?

We hear a lot about him wanting to return to England and where else realistically would he go?

Not fucking interested.

I want to see Liverpool *win*, or a team I hate *lose*

I don't have fucking time for the rest of it

Get me a manager who will win us trophies, that's all I care about*

I would but depending on:
a) How much I have currently 'saved up'
b) future employment opportunities at similar '$$$ levels'
c) how unhappy I was at the job

City next year when Mancini fails? Or Man U when SAF retires?

*Sings for himself*

Where the feck is Laudrup, where the feck is Laudrup, where the feck is Laudrup.. ON THAT LIST

Anyways... I can't fathom that anyone would want Mourinho here. And I'm not only referring to the obvious fact that he's often acting like a little spoiled idiotic kid.

He's so familiar in his managerial-approach when compared to Rafa and I'm not even sure he's better at it anyways. I can't remember ever seeing Mourinho's Chelsea play as beautiful and as exciting football as Rafa's Reds did for the most part of last Season for one.

Mourinho is evidently a good manager but if/when we are to replace our current gaffer it would be downright abysmal to replace him with his spitting image (tactic and apporach-wise only, as Rafa is a much more likeable and positive character).

I'd prefer us to take a bet on the likes of Van Basten (maybe a good shout actually), Laudrup, Guardiola and Rijkaard instead, someone who's at least well-known for their rather attacking-minded approach as well as beeing recognized for their pedigrees on the pitch as well.

That sentence kind of undermines your very own argument.

Oh and Mourinho will NOT GUARANTEE you trophies. Why do people keep on saying that?

It's bollocks.

Pedigree on the pitch?

WHAT THE *FUCK* DOES THAT FUCKING MATTER?

Jeus fucking Christ what the fuck are you quacking on about?

Shut up!

Right there

Pathetic and clueless

I doesn't make you look any less foolish when you're speaking in tongues.

Or latin.

Rafa more likeable than Mourinho?

Jose has legions of players all over the place that worship him, the English media fucking love him

He's charisma personified

Rafa's biggest fan is Montse

Khl, quite happy to rip you to fucking shreds if you want

Last time you had to call in the mods, if I recall

Let's not allow it to get that brutal, hmm?
