Danny Ings.
Thats the post.

No way, I don't want a fox in the box type, does not work for our system. Whoever we get must have pace/power/finishing - Ings has the later but not the other two things. Besides we are not going back.

One thing scares me though more than anything - the though of Grealish going to Man City. Please no no no.

Threads like this make me feel the writing is on the wall for Bobby. While I have been extremely critical of his contributions for the last eighteen months or so, I will be devastated to see him leave. More than Mane and Salah, I have loved watching him play in red.

I do think much of his struggles has been caused by our adoption of a system that leaves him isolated against too many players in the middle of the pitch, but that is a discussion for another day. I hope this does not turn out to be a final lament for the exit of one of the most unique players to have played for us, so I end with a video of my favourite Firmino moment (from a veritable mountain of a jaw dropping "ooh" moments) that captures the effortless joy he is capable of bringing to us when on song:

I can see Klopp keeping Bobby for a while but resting him more. If more downtime doesn’t get him back up to scratch then yeh I think he’ll be gone.

I hope that is the case. And Bobby isn't someone who'd be left out of the starting line up. Or shake his head at being substituted. Or have an agent post cryptic tweets that invite speculation.

That is everything I hate about english commentary.

Why on earth are they focusing on the perceived errors of aston villa, and not the absolutely world class control and turn that created the space. everything is so fucking negative.

I think the writing was on the wall when we signed Jota. It was a clear intention to shake things up a bit. As it turned out Jota spent half the season injured and we carried on as before, which has probably confirmed what we suspected, the current front 3 has gone stale. I expect we will bring in another forward next summer which likely means one of the current 3 has to go to balance the books.

Update: Raiola and Haaland now in Madrid talking with Real.
Expected to visit other top clubs as well. Dortmund have said he isnt for sale this summer, but a rumoured fee of 150-180 mill € might change their minds.

For that type of fee we are certainly out of the running.

If Leicester do hang onto the top 4, and at this point they really should, it will owe alot to their ability to call upon a forward of Iheanachos quality when Vardy was struggling with fitness/form.

Looking at the other top teams, it's seems they have more firepower in reserve than we do. Cavani/Greenwood at Utd, Giroud and Abraham at Chelsea, Jesus at City. We badly need an upgrade on Origi, perhaps even an upgrade on Firmino to rebranded the attack this summer.

You're right, although Klopp's unwillingness to use Chamberlain/Shaqiri/Origi/Minamino is a factor here. They haven't really been given many opportunities and Klopp seems to persist with Mane and Firmino out of habit at this point.

It could be because they're shite, but I do think some of them would have surpassed some of Mane and Firminos performances this season. Whatever, though, at least two of them should be sold and just sign the best finisher we can. That's the only metric I want to see from a new forward. Someone we can stick up top in a 4-2-3-1 and bury chances for fun.

What's your opinion on Brentford striker Ivan Toney as a replacement for Origi?
I've already exactly the same question few weeks back. The issue here is Divock might go for anything from £10m to £20m. Brentford bought Ivan Toney for £10m, so I would imagine the fee they would want could be anything from £30m to £50m.

In the current climate I think you'll see middling players go for something that reflects their proper worth, instead of the broadly inflated market we've seen in recent years.

Equity market world over is buoyant.
Banks are reporting record profits.
Apart from tourism, airlines business and volatility among SMEs the big corporates have navigated the covid crisis well.
Singapore PM has already stated that the global economy did far better than initially feared with regards to pandemic.
Fed expects the growth to be strong this year...

I don't think we are going to see cheap transfers....I think transfer market will resume where it left off in the 2020 June/July window. Hopefully our owners are astute and buy quickly when the market remains unknown and sell closer to the end at correct prices. If they hang on with their sell to buy nonsense they will get burnt...
