Id be quite happy to see one of the stand renamed for King Kenny, he has a very unique place in the history of the club and as is pointed out its the sort of thing that will probably happen once hes passed on so why wait, why not do it now?

Kenny obviously has pride of place in our history, but there is one even more worthy, if we really wanted to do that.

The one with the cap, obviously. 🙂

With sponsorship issues in mind.. the Ronnie Moran MacDonalds Stand.

A sexy new video detailing the steel works and schedule. It doesn't show any heavy machinery on the pitch which is contrary to other evil conspiracy theories.

Great video, thanks for positing that, two questions;

Does that mean the steel work has already started being placed, as it starts on the 5th of March in that video, and it's obviously the 12th today, would be interesting to see the progress in real life.

Also, I didn't notice cranes on the pitch once during that video, and I'd imagine the steel work is what requires the cranes, in that case if there is no cranes on the pitch, why can't we relay the grass?

As I've said before (& been ignored it seems) my mate who works on the ground staff said ages ago that any major work that close stops grass taking properly & destroys existing grass. The vibrations even unseat some of the artifical fibres.

They have two options, either cover the surface with an airtight seal to prevent concrete & steel dust killing the grass, or leave it uncovered & try to remove the dust etc every evening.

Either way it'll kill the grass after a couple of weeks.

Spending what amounts to millions to lay the surface knowing it'll almost all die seems a tad stupid.

They did come up with an elaborate scheme to grow it off site on large mobile trays that include the drainage system & move them on site for a while, but it's insanely expensive & has a relatively low success rate compared to the systems usually employed.

I never ignored you! I thought the issue was down to heavy drains bursting the pipes. But cheers, thats an interesting, it's amazing there's so much science and complication behind bloody grass!

Yeah, the lad in question (a bluenose) has a degree in it (an actual degree in grass growing) that the club paid for, & will talk about it for hours.

I imagine the pipes arent just under the grass and would be also somewhere around the stadium too i.e. to actually drain the water somewhere

I'm just a lowly OOTer so I haven't been there since the Autumn, however these pics have popped up recently. I'm totes excited, somewhere decent to spend a few hours between flights and match times. As for Mr. FFF's conspiracy theory about grass and stuff, I have no idea, I was referring to James Pearce's cranes on the pitch article.
Pearce wrote: "Cranes are scheduled to be on the pitch during June as contractors Carillion step up work on the £100million Main Stand project to add 8,500 extra seats to Anfield’s capacity".
I don't know who to believe, my head is wrecked, I picked an awful day to give up Heroin.

We should organise a massive drinkies and after which, at about 4am, we all go and finish building it.

If we get a gang of about 50 lads, we'll have it finished just as the boys are arriving at the stadium.

They'll be super surprised.

I really want to know why this clown is running.
Well, it's a building site. Which means it's:

10am, so they're running for breakfast
10.30am, so they're running for tea break
11am, so they're running for second breakfast
Noon, so they're running for dinner
2pm, so they're running back to work
3pm, so they're running for tea break
3.30pm, so they're running to clock out.

What a great name for a big fuck off digger. "Hurt". I want one.
When I was a kid they were laying the telewest cable & digging up all the roads. They used to let us sit in their mini bobcat diggers with them & ride from one end of the street to the other.

That's still one of the best memories I have as a kid.

When I win the lottery I'm so buying a digger & a dumper truck.
