That's interesting, though I can't see the Celts passing up on Fultz. Boston could use help in their backcourt and also an insurance against losing Thomas in free agency next year. It's hard to see the Lakers not taking Lonzo Ball too. Jackson cancelling the Boston workout perhaps suggests he knows the Celtics are locked on Fultz.

Unless Brett Brown was serious when he said he'd use Simmons as a PG ("really a PG" not "point forward" as he said -- http://www.libertyballers.com/2017/...ons-when-i-say-point-guard-i-mean-point-guard), or they go after a guard in free agency, I think they take whoever is the best guard available, given they already have a pretty solid young front line. Of course, they could still take Jackson and trade down or trade the pick for one.

Some rumours now about Boston trading down for 76ers' #3 + one or more picks in future drafts. Crazy how many picks Boston already has now:

Well Ainge would be the sort to be open minded about trading if someone was to overpay.

Sixers to get Fultz. Boston to get no.5 plus 18 and 19 1st round picks.

Others say it won't be confirmed until draft night - because Josh Jackson is the one the Celtics want and the Lakers could take him at 2 and upset everything
 
Wonder if Ainge is going to try and turn some of these picks into George/Butler and Porzingis - guys on teams who're only likely to trade them for picks (although in George's case, it'll depend on his FA leanings).
 
Going to be a very interesting draft night. Philly will obviously take Fultz. If Simmons and Embiid can get healthy, that's potentially a very good core.

Rumours are that the Lakers aren't too high on Ball. I wonder if he falls to the Suns.

Ball and Booker would play zero defense, but that offense would be fun as hell to watch.

The rumour is that Ainge might send the picks then to Chicago for Butler.

Then add Hayward or Griffin in free agency.

Thomas/Butler/Griffin would seriously threaten Lebron in the East. Would they be able to beat the Warriors though?
 
So its done ... Fultz going to Sixers.

Simmons reckons the Celtics think they'll get the player they wanted at 3 - Jackson or Tatum. And that they were never certain Fultz will actually turn out to be the best player in this draft

It also sidesteps having Fultz & Isiah - Isiah apparently always got pissed off when his team would sign or draft someone to replace him.

The Cavs have fired Griffin on the same day he was allegedly trying to get Butler or George.

I've read in the realgm Celtics forums that the word was that the Celtics staff felt Fultz lacked explosiveness. Guess in a copycat league where the top point guards are all exceptionally quick in getting to the hoop, they wanted something similar. I suppose the C's have basically now locked in on Thomas as the starting PG for their title challenge and will offer him the max contract he'll want at the end of the season. I think Ainge is making a mistake as I still don't fancy Thomas as the starting PG for a serious title contender.

I think this means Avery Bradley will get moved now, as he's a UFA next season. They probably can't give him too much of a bump if they sign Hayward/Griffin this season, re-sign Thomas to a max contract next season, and still want another UFA on a max next season (for example, Lebron James is on the market for another two-year rental next season, just saying...). Add to that the 27m~30m owed to Horford.

EDIT: Come to think of it, they could've just drafted Fultz and played him with Thomas as well, as it'd give them another ball handler who can shoot the ball while providing additional size and also cover for Bradley.

Woj is also reporting that the Knicks haven't ruled out trading Porzingis and that Jackson has met with Markkanen.

Jackson should be fired if he trades Porzingis. If they let him do that and pick Markkanen (a player who plenty project will be too much of a defensive liability to play in the NBA) then maybe its time the NBA forced an ownership change
 
Markkanen had the poorest shot blocking % of all bigs in this draft I think. He's an amazing shooter though. Will probably be a rich man's Ryan Anderson.

Can't see the Knicks trading Porzingis frankly. It'd be beyond daft.

The relationship between Porzingis and Jackson doesn't seem like it'll improve, and if Dolan is backing Jackson to the hilt, then Porzingis is the one who will move. The question is then what the Knicks can get for him - it's an opportunity for them to get a player or two, more picks as well as dump a contract by bundling it with Porzingis for salary match, so this could actually happen. It all depends on what comes back.
 
As a Suns fan, I would send the #4 plus Bledsoe, another young player and a future first rounder for Porzingis easily.

Porzingis plus Booker would be two amazing young pieces to build around.
 
Lakers send Russell + Mozgov to Nets for Brook Lopez + 27th pick. Lopez is owed 22m this season, and is an UFA after that. Almost expect the Lakers to package Luol Deng + one or more picks to dump his salary next and then gun for a Chris Paul + Paul George + Lebron James super team in LA next year.

Hawks --> Charlotte: Dwight Howard (23.5m per for next 2 seasons) + 31st pick
Hornets --> Hawks: Belinelli (6.6m for next season) + Miles Plumlee (12.4m for next 3 seasons) + 41st pick

I think this is a good trade for the Hornets. Gives them an improved shot at the playoffs, upgraded their 2nd round pick this year, and they shift the salary schedule from (19m, 12.4m, 12.4m) to (23.5m, 23.5m), which means they can pay more for a FA a season earlier.

I can't see Chris Paul as a Laker.
He'll have to give up a lot of money to move across town.The Clippers with Paul, could be a LeBron destination.

The Clippers are getting interesting again - Ballmer has brought in Jerry West to seemingly oversee everything. I'm guessing there'll be plenty more changes.

But LeBron to LA seems nailed on - Gilbert seems to be doing his best to make it okay for him to leave again. And LeBron's business interests are centred in LA apparently.
