Nah, I don't see it

I'm going to say Welbeck.

Maybe I need to watch him more but I don't think he's as good as some say or think he is. Ryan and a few others really rate him but I think he can be clumsy at times. He's a good player obviously but Is he good enough to be starting for United and England?

Re Erikson;

I've seen little of him so can't really comment, but surely Rodgers has earmarked Coutinho for the 10 role, thus didn't see the point in buying Erikson, no?

I dont think thats even a big call, hes really not that good, quick strong and hard working but his first touch is awful and hes a dreadful finisher, hes Heskey Mk II

My calls for this season are
Jovetic - will struggle to get a look in
Willian - will flop completely
Ozil - will win player of the year

For us
Aspas will not deliver the goals to remove the burden on the front two
Coutinho will have a very tough 2nd season

Eriksen compets with Holtby and Sigurdsson though. None of which have set the world alight.

I think I'm right (without checking) in saying that Sigurdsson has been moved to the bench this season except for the opener and their last match where he scored 2 goals, what more could you want ?

Competition /back-up?

Eriksen could have covered wide positions too.

And last season?

Hmmm...I thought I had answered Osvaldo and Soldado in this thread.

How has Soldado been? A couple of penalties but other than that?

Not looking too far off at the moment.

City have Kun and Negredo keeping him off the team. Nasri was very good tonight in the bits I saw. Silva starting games too.

Cheeky loan big for Jovetic? ha.

Sahin.

The minute Rodgers played him out of position, I knew he's gonna be a failure.

I blame Rodgers more than anyone tbh, because Sahin, as we know it is world class and is primarily the reason why Dortmund are a much better team this season.

Which brings me to a hunch - I'm not so sure if Rodgers knows exactly how to play players to their strength, especially those he's bought so far.

Allen - failure so far
Moses - failure so far
Sahin - likewise
Luis Alberto - hardly plays
Cissokho - joke
Aspas - joke

Wrong! Mignolet is an excellent shot stopper and the way he's set up the midfield he's had plenty of chances to prove it.

Yeah but he's no footballer. You couldn't play him as a cb. Mignolet's versatility is awful.

Which makes me think. Has a keeper ever signed for a club, and been called to play outfield, and been sensational? Now there's an unlikely thing..

Probably a better wingback than Cissokho

Jorge Campos does some great stuff here

Yes. I think we should invent a new position and revolutionize the game.

Ladies and gentlemen, I bring to you....the much coveted player.....the false CB.......(who really is nothing more than a GK being a nutter and playing totally out of position really).
