Alright, stick your balls on the line a bit.

What signing, players, decisions, etc do you look at and are immediately convinced 'nah that one's not gonna work' after one or two viewings and then stick to it?

I'm not talking about some small-fry Assaidi-for-2million style shit, or some predictable Torres-for-50M-mightn't live up to expectations shit, I want something decent.

Sheik's call on Aspas is a great example. From day 1 he's been onto him. Fair enough too cos he's hardly setting the world alight. I admire that shit.

Mine is...

Fellaini to United. For 27 fucking million I don't see it. He's absolutely not what they needed. He'll be ok, meh, middling, but he's not a United midfielder. They could have done so much better. He's a plodding, slow big lump.

I feel the same about Fellaini.

Schürrle has not impressed me so far, so he is my suggestion.
 
Soldado at Spurs. 26 mill is insane for what he'a shown so far.

I think schurrle is class, but might not show it at Chelsea, so that's why i never suggested him

Navas at City. I'm completely meh about him. I know he's hyped to fuck but..... Meh
 
I always thought Arsenal should have gone for Fellaini and United should have gone for Ozil.

Anyway, my pick is....



Willian, I just don't see him as a Mourinho type of player, and was really surprised they came in for him, they are already over endowed with attacking mids, so it will only be a matter of time before he uses him less and less like he did with Joe Cole, before flogging him.

I would've thought Modo will be pretty good at this since it's his modus operandi.
 
Wellbeck. I don't get the hype about the lad at all.

I don't know if people have hyped up Chadli but from what I've seen so far he's average at best.
 
Soldado has been a little unlucky so far but looks a sharp and skilfull player. Don't think he'll be a roaring success but not a dismal failure either. Chadlii looks a good call to me, unimpressed. Aspas only cost a few million so if he makes it or not (and he was only signed as a squad player with potential to be better anyway, a gamble that may or may not pay off) we're not going to lose much on him if we end up with a worst case scenario and he's on his way back to Spain next June.

Fine player though he is I'm going for a big call on Ozil. Will be a decent player without ever reaching the heights, but he won't ever show he's worth near 50m (he would have been great in our team though, with Studge and Suarez ahead of him) 😉

Bale is a preposterous waste of money. I think he'll be seen as a failure. Not just as, oh, they overpaid, because they are Real, and that's what Real do, but instead inquests in el pais and the whole bit.

Schurrle. He shows glimpses but that's about it.

Lamela? Its a lot of money and from his game he played in italy he doesnt look like he would need time to acclimatise to the prem.
 
I called Fellaini at the time of the transfer. The big elbowy bastard is a horrible guy to play against, but isn't what Utd need. Unless Moyes is really planning to 'Evertonize' the way Utd play.
 
Good call on Fellaini, I also think Everton will be better off with Barry, McCarthy and Barkley. They've done well out of the Summer.

I have to agree with the early Aspas worries, ironic really when he was the best of the new signings during pre-season. He does need time and might still come good, but his whole body language and work rate is reminding me of Voronin.
