They also said that they'd sought a second opinion on the knee injury, but their fears were alleviated. So, if you put two and two together, the club have tried to be smart and knock the price down. I can't blame Lyon here.

There might have been issues with the medical, but I doubt that since the club told the Echo and other media outlets that the deal was done. They've also done the first photos of him in the kit. Why would they do that if they had reservations about the player's fitness?
Don't shoot me down for saying this, but what do people think of getting Dimitri Payet in for a couple of seasons? He is 31 so should be cheap but has had a really good season with six goals and 14 assists. 24 assists and 10 goals in all competitions.
