Moyes sacked.

Who ever takes over will have to build a new team, I wouldn't have any of there players there all shite.

They need 8 first team players by my reckoning.

However, if the owners promise 200m plus there's a fair few owners would love the chance to completely build a side, & I bet there's a few lads in their youth team that will be quality under the right coach, so depending who they get in they could challenge next year.

Ferguson said we needed about 8 players to win the league a few months ago. I think people are exaggerating. If they get a decent managet that thr players believe in, they'll be back in the top four next year.

I love that, when talking about the strength and difficulty of the league, Rodgers throws a comment about the 'champions' in there every few pressers.

Aye, Rodgers should come out with this if we win the league - they need 8 new players to win the league again.

And that Wayne Rooney is not a 'top, top player'.

And that we also looked seriously into buying Phil Jones, but backed out because we thought his face would cause him problems in his career.

And it will depend on who they can bring in regarding players as they could be no European football, im mixed whether they make Europa or not, it could benefit them having none like it has for us.

I hope this means they're still supporting him.

MUTV suspend David May over Moyes criticism
ESPN staff
April 21, 2014

Former Manchester United defender David May has been suspended from his punditry duties on the club's MUTV channel for saying David Moyes is "out of his depth", according to the Daily Mail.

May's comments were made on MUTV's post-match coverage of United's 2-0 defeat to Everton - a result which appears to have cost Moyes his job.

United have lost patience with Moyes and the club are preparing to sack him, sources have told ESPN.

May also appeared to suggest Moyes was "not tactically good enough" when responding to a caller's question, before being cut off by the show's presenter, Jim Rosenthal.

First-half goals from Leighton Baines and Kevin Mirallas were enough to see United slump to an 11th Premier League defeat of the campaign.

United have only a Europa League spot left to fight for in their four remaining games, and will miss out on the Champions League next season for the first time since 1995-96.

Moyes' side are currently six points behind sixth-placed Tottenham, who occupy the final Europa League berth.

May, 43, won two league titles, two FA Cups and the Champions League in his nine years at United between 1994 and 2003.

Its pretty much the same team that won the league last season, they can't be that shite.

No - that team was utter shite last season, and they (United) have been a pretty average team for the last 4-5 years. It is such a shame that the rest of the league has been in such bad shape as to not put up a challenge. In many ways I am glad that Chelsea, and Man City have come about otherwise all those other titles would have gone to United. It is only the Ferguson factor that made them tick - he provided clear instructions on what to do. The position and the results they are getting this season is actually a true reflection of the natural state of the players they have in that team. Contrast this with City, and Chelsea who without being spoon fed with instructions are as a team capable of reaching the top 4 because of the quality of players.

I wonder how much Fergie wants us knocked off our perch again? Enough to come out of retirement?

Mark - with our potential title win, I think he is having sleepless nights and is probably behind all these reports - he is planning his return as I write this.

Apparently the reason they're denying it is cos they can't do anything until the stock market opens.

That's what happens when you're a plc instead of a football club.

Good point. I'm not sure, had assumed they were on the NYSE.

They are listed on the NYSE, but if they are going to sack Moyes they would more than likely wait for it to close(ca 21:00 your time) as any leadership or borad shakeup often leads to jittery shareholders. Sacking Moyes(if it's true) could cost them £25m plus having to find a replacement so they would want shareholders to sleep on it instead of panic selling with the worry that their dividends would be hit.

This is all fairly gutting. I hope they don't have all this money to spend that everyone keeps saying they have, cos that combined with a decent manager will surely be enough to get them back challenging sooner or later.

Henry Winter really is the biggest prick in the football media. And that is really, really, saying something.

God, I hope he's right though.

Dunno about Winter being the biggest - Oliver Holt and Martin Samuel (to name just a couple off the top of my head) are at least as bad. He's certainly worthy of being named in that company, though, and like you I hope he's right. They really don't need a beginner at that club now, or probably ever.

I'm not one who personally said it, but a few on here called him being out of his depth thr day he took over, pointing to his inability to attack or change tactics mid game.

The only hope is he can spin his bullshit to Tottenham like avb did. Otherwise, he's going to league 1.

Moyes to Tottenham, god please.

Would be funny but no chance, Spurs have looked at him before but thought better of it, one of the rare times Levy has got it right.

Hes 40-1 to be the next Newcastle manager, not the worst punt ever.

Wouldn't suprise to see him take a decent bit of time off tbh, he looks like he needs it.

On one of the other Liverpool forums it wasn't far off unanimous that he would be a failure, maybe not to this humiliating extent but it wasn't really that hard to see that he would be a failure.

He's 4 to 1 to be the next Newcastle manager.
Not sure he'd want the job but beggars can't be choosers.

Rumour is that they only have to give him a one year pay off as he didn't finish in the top four, which was only official this weekend.
