I do think that in general the United supporters have behaved decently over the season - this has been coming for a while, but they have avoided open revolt at seeing their team sink under Moyes. I cannot imagine Chelsea fans being as restrained.

I don't think it matters much - whoever they get - there will need to be a major spend to get a good team. Do not think for one minute that they have always had great teams with great players - most of the time Fergie had normal players who he managed to inspire to win games and think like champions and get that extra 15-30% out of them. If the next manager is able to do this then they have a chance at redeeming themselves next season but I cannot see that happening over night.

Every club and agent in the world has to be licking their chops ready to hold United's feet to the fire and raise the prices on their players. Teams will be demanding outrageous fees from them throughout the summer and it is going to be hilarious.
