If spending 8m on Robertson both gave us a credible backup AND pushed Moreno to improve then I'd say that's the definition of money well spent.

Yep, and with the number of games we have Robertson, once he’s up to speed with how Klopp wants him to play, will get games.

Moreno is largely culpable for the chance that west Ham had early in the match when they hit the post.
The ball came over the top , all be it from a fortunate deflection and Moreno turned to see Ayew on his outside moving forward towards the path of the ball.
He hesitated completely looking unsure what he needed to do and then when Ayew trapped the ball, he little more than jogged back to try and intercept him, seemingly not quite believing what was unfolding. A good full back would not have allowed all this to happen.
He has improved this season no doubt but that is coming from a very low base and I fear that this upturn in form is temporary and calamity will return at some point.

Ming as always was so, so slow off his line though. Other keepers would have easily taken the ball.

Not sure Moreno could have done much more with that chance – the deflection really put the ball on a plate for Ayew. Ming was the one who should have come out sooner.

Just so when this thread gets dug up after we sell him.

He's terrible and the sooner he is booted out the better.

Yes, I-told-you-so’s are way more important than supporting or discussing players.

It's taken you this long to figure that out?

He's awful and a few decent games doesn't change that.

His positioning has still be shite this year, it's like people have ignored it because everyone else is even worse.

He's one of the worst full backs to ever play for us.

I cannot wait to see the back of him.

Mig is far more disturbing to me than Moreno, 2 occasions yesterday, one of the occasions soon after they had pulled their goal back and were coming at us with the crowd up, he did the ludicrously dumb nervy clearance shit.... I thought that version of Mig had died but instead...

CLEAR THE FUCKING BALL YOU FUCKING DICKHEAD IT AINT FUCKING DIFFICULT.

Mig contributing to nervousness in our defence is the very last fucking thing we need.

Yeah, Mignolet oozes uncertainty. The horrendous attempt to block the WH player and let the ball run out was just plain awful to watch.
It seems that the teams we play dont have to get to many attempts on target before they score.

What a crock of shit.
Josemi
Kromkamp
Konchesky
Bjornbye
Degen
Cissokho
Dossena
Insua
Robinson
Flanagan
Manquillo
Enrique

And that's just off the top of my head.
It's cool that you hate a Liverpool player even when he's performing well but don't try and justify it by lying.

Shut up you tit. Josemi fucking played for us.

Now thats a list that can make any man cry. Fucking hell

I have looked at the incident again and definitely Mignolet should have come out and claimed it, as any decent keeper would.
Moreno seemed to have thought this too and let Ayew with a free run, which given the history of Mignolet constantly rooted to the spot wasn't a good decision.
I am still not convinced by Moreno, despite his resurgence, and as unconvinced as I am about pretty much all our defenders, I would be prepared to keep them all if we could get rid of Mignolet and get in a top goalkeeper.

Interesting enough neither Ayew nor Moreno was involved in the goal.

He's fought back well to get himself a starting spot, and has kept his performances up to keep it. As mentioned a lot, Robertson has looked promising when he plays but Moreno is at present performing above that level. The call up will be incredible for his confidence.

You can also tell how well him & Coutinho get on - i feel like they are always looking for each other first when in a position to pass.

Long term I don't think Moreno is going to be a LB for us, but I have a lot of time for him staying a working his ass off to get back in the team rather than just taking a pay cheque somewhere else or being happy as back up.

Not to correct you and say you are wrong, but more out of curiosity, why shouldn't his Development inspire him to work even harder and cement that place? He spent a good season on the bench withou being trusted even when Milners legs were dead. And instead of taking the easy way out he has done the opposite and worked hard to adjust to what the coaches look for and even f his prefered status is to bomb blindly Down the left he has actually held back when the left corridor was open. He made his way into the Spain Squad (probably just as a test?) and seem undroppable at the moment. Can he progress further? Not sure. Will he drop to old sins, or be victimised by a poor defensive team all aorund or jsut drop the interest in Your eyes?

I'm a cynic and I think the decisions have already been made. He has a poor brand. I would have no problem with him staying if we continue to see such improvements. So the last point was more a prediction than my own personal assessment.

Yeah, it was great defending and goalkeeping that forced the shot to come off the post

We win 4-1, hardly gave the home team any openings, dealt well with their change of style as well and as far as I remember you were complaining we didn't score 2-3 more... and still we are hung up in a shot hitting the outside of the post? Yeah we could have prevented that shot which came as a result of a deflected pass, but when we start blaming and pointing fingers for shots wide we are off the mark.

Is Mignolet a very good goalie? Nope, he need replacement. But hanmering that point out every fucking game doesnt replace him. So relax and enjoy a good week for us... there will be soon enough episodes were you can repeat your dull shit anyway shortly... So save your energy till then.

Whilst it is fashionable (and usually correct) to disagree with DB, I certainly wouldn't assume that Moreno has 'turned a corner' in his career. He's merely had a run of games where his defensive frailties have not been so ruthlessly exposed. Fair play to him - he's done well and deserves his place in the team on current form. But make no mistake, he's completely brainless when it comes to defending and will demonstrate that again before the season is out.

Having said that, this little upturn in his performances may yet be enough to prolong his Liverpool career, if only by dropping him slightly down the long list of players that need replacing.

Yeah, I don't think anyone is that confident about Moreno

I'd take any of them over him.

Shut up you tit. Josemi fucking played for us.

At least we only had to put up with him for a very short space of time.

Moreno getting more and more games is criminal, He's fucking shite and will be back to his very worst soon enough.

He's been better but still no where near good enough. You'd think he was Ashley Cole reborn with the way some people are saying they are happy for him to stay now.

Fuck me

Then you're a fucking moron

Oh, wait.

Ha well considering you have always had a soft spot for Moreno that's hardly a surprising opinion for you now is it.

He is nowhere near good enough for any team looking to compete for honours on a consistent basis

You just said you'd prefer Josemi to Moreno

That makes you a fucking moron

Maybe my hatred for Moreno is on par with yours for Lucas.

I do recall Josemi started strongly for us then went to shit.

I'd play anyone instead of Moreno I dislike him that much in red

Started strongly? One OK display against Spurs, and then utterly execrable in every other game.

One of the shittest fullbacks to ever play for Liverpool, and as mediocre and thick as Moreno has been in the past, he's a far better player than Josemi.

So be quiet
