More-no way!

He was finished and people unanimously didn't want to see him anywhere near the team, so to turn that around is some achievement. Some players are content to know that they are finished at a club and will sit on a fat pay packet, making no effort to change their fortune and waiting for the next move. He's worked his arse off, gone from nearing the exit to first choice and thoroughly deserves any recognition and rewards that come his way.

He's been good this season. Easily our best defender so far. While everyone was shitting their pants against Spurs he was the only one who came out of it with any credit.

Always liked him but have to admit I thought his time was up, so kudos to him. Unlucky for Robertson, whom I also like, but if Moreno now deserves the shirt he should hang on to it.

I Said once in an earlier thread that I was convinced that Klopp wants to win the league as bad as any fans, but he is the kind of man that badly wants players as Moreno to win the league for Liverpool where the fans want him fucked off long ago.

I don't say he should just keep all players and play them whatever, bit I guess he will expect fans to be more patienced as he change the ones he need to change.

He's been way better this season than last but he's still shite, still leaves gapping holes at left back and needs selling as soon as he get a proper left back

Robinson has looked a complete waste of money so far

What? He's been alot more disciplined this season and has arguably been our best defender. Robertson has looked good whenever he has played, how does that equate to a "complete waste of money"? He's a kid, cost buttons and has looked good. By all accounts he has a great future ahead of him.

I sometimes wonder what planet you're on/from.

Has every other Spanish defender been locked up for being a separatist, or for sex crimes?

Spain have already qualified. Bet he's just testing a few new players.

Yes he used to get those brain farts but right from the beginning it was was always obvious that despite his flaws - he has every other quality that Klopp would want in that position - pace, power, powerful shot and bundles of energy. Seems like along with his physicality his brain is now linked up. Having said that - I do expect him to screw up but if he did this season it would be his first time. While the rest have consistently screwed up - both front and back - you could argue he has been our most consistent performer.

Wanted him out of Liverpool big time but I’m really happy to see him doing so well.
He’ll definitely have his brain farts during this season. But if he can keep that down to a couple a season rather than per game, I’m happy to see him keep his place.
One thing we do know now is that the lad has a set of balls. The more hungry players we have in the squad, the better.

The Robertson remark is in reference to the limited game time he has gotten and the fact he can't displace Moreno.

We needed a new LB,got one and he's barely had a kick.

He's been good this season. Still makes some very poor decisions and gets caught high up the field.
Also has the occasional brainfart with ridiculous tackles and clearences but much improved from his earlier Liverpool career.

Not sure if its enough to warrant a place in our first team in the future. We need better quality.

He's been brilliant this season.
Our most consistent defender and a great attacking threat.

Week in week out he's been one of our best performers.

I don't understand yous lot

Have to agree. He has been going about his business remarkably efficiently. He is never going to be the best defender in the world but credit where it is due.

Yes. I still feel he was getting way too much credit for what were still essentially ill-disciplined and positionally chaotic performances earlier this season, but yesterday I must say he did look much better - mature by his standards and surprisingly sensible. And if anything he was under-used when he made two or three really good attacking runs.

I wonder what's the secret behind his transformation.

I wonder whether it's similar to an approach we used to take with players who signed a long time ago where we'd stick them in the reserves for a year or so to learn the way we played. That can't happen these days for various reasons, but Moreno seems to have taken a year, essentially, to learn how to play in this team. It would be interesting whether some of the other players in the team who are underperforming, or just don't look very good, would benefit from this sort of thing. Not sure most players would go for it, mind, they think too much of themselves.

Good post Mark.

Moreno is finally beginning to look like a very useful left back, i for one am delighted he has turned it around.

If spending 8m on Robertson both gave us a credible backup AND pushed Moreno to improve then I'd say that's the definition of money well spent.
