I don't know if 70 million is too much - in today's market - but i do know their CM is a serious weakness for them as it's Partey and Xhaka, et ce tous.
Sometimes, overpaying to keep the overall unit purring is a necessity.
Smart move if it comes to fruition.
Brighton are going to reject it..they feel there is another bigger bid to come on deadline day.

Caicedo's current salary is £15,000 a week - a third of what Curtis Jones earns.

It can't be hard to agree personal terms with him.
Brighton have asked for £100m if you believe the press. AFC have offered £75m.
We are trying to sell Ox and Nats to fund a loan transfer. There is huge disparity in ambition between the two clubs.

Arsenal rumoured to have made a second bid of £70m

Brighton have put him on gardening leave.

He'll be gone before the end of Tuesday. Just not to us.

Brighton will make him stay for the rest of the season. Even bigger bids will come this summer.

They won't. Well maybe Chelsea who are buying everyone.. but his value has hit its ceiling.

There hasnt been a new bid since the 60 mill from Arsenal, and no he hasnt hit his ceiling yet.

Brighton are currently 6th. You could even argue its worth missing out on 10 mill (if thats the case) for keeping until the end of the season. Which is what they have said they are doing.

I didn't mean he's hit his ceiling as a player. I mean he's hit his ceiling in terms of value from Brighton.

He'll either go for between 75-80 in this window of 60-70 in the summer.

Unless there is a Chelsea premium paid over 10 years.

I think that’s what’s going to happen.

What’s this loan transfer we’re trying to sell Ox & Nat to fund, that you keep babbling on about?

I guess he means this

So…. made up bollocks then, unless we’re signing on loan, either a home grown player or an U21.

Almost as ridiculous as the rumour Bayern were going to loan us Gravenberch till the end of the season.

Pep would be happy, I suppose.

Maybe you should start a Summer 2023 thread then.

That makes no difference to BB etc. - made up BS ? It's just another opportunity to launch into another deranged rant.

I wish he had the wit to understand that getting angsty when something that’s made up doesn’t happen is a sort of death spiral or concentric loop of self torture.
