Ming

I don't think anyone is denying the fact he's a liability, but it's hyperbole to say he's the reason we didn't get 4th. There are plenty of games that we've won comfortably, but were cushioned by an early save or early last ditch tackle - would the derby have been so comfortable if Sakho hadn't got that tackle in early doors against Lukaku?

No one has their "heads in the sand". If you ran a poll of positions that need addressing this Summer, the GK and defensive ones would come out on top each time. But there are a myriad of reasons we didn't get 4th. We lost one game we should have been winning because Klopp dropped Ming too.

So mark, 12-15 points lost as a direct result of his errors. We should just pretend "those aren't the points you're looking for?" Again, the idea he cost us the CL spot stands because this is the one position on the field where individual error is paramount and can cause a reversal of fortune.

I also think we could have won the community shield next August if he wasn't so bad,...

Oh, another thread that now turned into a Lucas is shit thread. What a surprise. Please note that I again didn't start to talk about him.

We didn't finish in the top four because we started the season with a shit manager. IMO if we had started the season with Klopp as manager with the same squad then we would have won the league.

Why not stop moaning and instead get behind the team? We have one of the best managers in the world and he will sort out our problems. If a player isn't good enough then he will be sold or loaned out. Klopp won't keep a player just for the sake of it. It will always be what is best for the team.

Niall, I'm with mark on this. I don't accept the 12-15 points figure, not least because Mignolet has also saved us points at times with some worldy saves. IMO it is more complicated than predominantly one player's fault. It always is.

No, he has a point , I mean our change in fortunes is both remarkable and obvious , we've shot up in the league rankings since Klopp came in.

Its also only fair to suggest that if Lucas had the pre season with Klopp he too would have benefitted and he'd have obviously gone on to be one of our more dependable players.

I know JJ, but it's a pivotal position. Keeper will always drop you a lot of points. I would agree it can be more complicated than one person's fault, except if you are talking about the keeper.

When Klopp starts losing the plot in a couple of seasons and makes a scapegoat out of Lucas, your posts are going to come into their own. I look forward to those times. I can almost see it now, hahahahhaaa good times shall come to pass.

If Lucas is still at Liverpool in a couple of seasons, the joke is not going to be very funny

He's only 30, he never had any mobility to begin with, the way he 'plays' doesn't require any physical attributes to speak of. If anything, he will probably improve with age as he gets more experienced and disguises his 'clever' fouls better. Not in five seasons will we be rid of him. By that time who knows what medical technology would be available to extend his career well into his 50's.

You do know that the thread is about Mignolet? If you want to throw shit at Lucas then do it in a Lucas thread.

It is always good to hear by the way that you don't need any physical attributes to speak of to make the most tackles the last decade in probably the most physical league in the world. I can also tell you by the way that is almost impossible to make so many tackles and almost never get sent off.

And it'll be almost impossible not to love them both if they win us the game tonight.
